I used to enjoy watching sports as an escape from politics but we apparently can't have that anymore. I used to enjoy movies and TV shows as something unrelated to politics but we can't have that anymore either. Now it's at the point where I can't even enjoy video games without them getting all political on me. They just had a new Battletoads game launched, and I was thinking "a sequel to a silly beat-em-up featuring cartoon frogs in space, how could they possible phuck that one up" but holy chit did they manage to do that. For some reason they handed it off to some new amateur developer and they are apparently full of leftist activists, I mean this is what their art director is like:



Didn't know this going into the game (luckily I got to play it for free with Xbox Game Pass) and while playing it I couldn't help but to notice how it just felt... off. Like the art direction was really lame, the level design totally sucked, and they totally screwed up on the characters with lots of cringy attempts at humor. Worst of all is the way they kept throwing in all these leftist political undertones. It's like it's impossible for these people to have any involvement in anything, even a game about cartoon frogs, without trying to turn it into a platform for their woke politics.

It's like I am just done when it comes to trying to having anything to do with 2020 media.

Yeah I can tell how that art director is basically the poster girl for "diversity" hire. As an art director her art direction totally sucked, and it seems like she works as a political activist first anything else second. I have no idea why they keep handing projects and job titles off to these people but doing so have been resulting in some truly crap products that I want nothing to do with. It's like despite working in the entertainment industry they seem to be totally opposed to the notion of simply enjoying something and trying to make it as fun as possible, it's just lazy chit with a heavy focus on their politics.

it's become another platform to push agendas. i don't watch tv. dont watch sports, etc. and i feel i'm much better off for it

Oh I have plenty of good games to play, it's just that this new Battletoads is a perfect example of what 2020 media is like. An old beloved IP handed off to a bunch of social justice activists who work in media yet can't seem to create anything good that totally ruined it with their politics. It seems to be the case with all sorts of "reboots" we have had lately. it's like they can't create anything decent themselves so they take over things that used to be great and ruin them.
