2 years isn't enough time to know what you are really capable of, especially if you never received real instruction on how to train. If a person was coached from Day 1 by someone competent I might agree but most of us didn't have that luxury.

lol at needing coaching, there's enough info on the internet to know how to lift, that includes form, rep schemes and whatever else you can think of.

The gap between 275 and 315 is FAR greater than 225 and 275.

I benched 225x1 incline senior year of high school @ 160lbs without training it. Bench max was 290. Jakes on you, op

Different people lift with different goals in mind. I'm not a power-lifter and rarely dip below 12 reps. Might be awhile before I'm benching 315X12.

A 1 rep max is a poor indicator of a good physique.

The Internet will never replace a real live coach in the gym with you. Perhaps Alabama, OSU,Clemson etc. should fire their strength coaches and just tell the players to look it up on Google..

Yeah i get that but it is somewhat bodyweight dependant. If a miscer weighs 150, 315 is over double bodyweight so i had to create some sort of category. Meanwhile, there are also miscers well over 200.

What do you lift now?

Obviously if you're talking elite level then yeah, but in the context of this conversation I'm talking about your average 3-5 day gym goer. That level of meticulous knowledge is not a requirement.

Idk. A lot more. I’m in my mid-30’s. Can’t compare what I did in HS to now.
