Actually I believe that there is reported to be more false negatives than false positives FWIW. And C-19 is hardly the first or only virus with asymptomatic carriers.

I was extremely sick over Christmas 2019 with pretty much every symptom of now covid. Cardio has been down post lockdown even though I stayed active and worked non stop. Taste and smell never left thankfully.

I have talked to several family members who attended a Party in NJ and said to have had all of the symptoms then as well. Maybe it was in North America as early as December 2019.
