Just got my Firearms license in this commie ass state (ILLINOIS) after 3 months of waiting. Now looking to buy a hand cannon but everything is sold out.
Wat do?
Budget $3-600 not including attachments.

But if you’re staying, what will the gun be for? Home? Carry? Mostly in the car but won’t carry? Keeping in a safe and taking out every once in a while to show friends or take to a range?

Chits sold out everywhere. Still worth waiting for a good gun instead of getting whatever BS they have in stock. Glock 19 is generally regarded as the best all around handgun to start with. Doesn't do anything the best, but doesn't do anything bad.

Well, with the availability right now, the only thing you're gonna find are 22s. Nice thing is the ammo is still relatively cheap and available compared to everything else, so you'll at least get practice.

Yeah, unless you buy from LEO you're boned, CA laws suck; if I wasn't exempt I'd have to pay ~$1200+ for a Gen 5 Glock.
