Saw one grizzly with cub while camping in Whitegoat area in Alberta brah, she ran through the bushes in front of us and cub followed. We had bearsprays and a shotgun so were prepped.

Have run into Black bears in BC a few times. Always keep my bear spray in the car in case I forget to pack it

The average weight of an inland male grizzly is 270 kg. That's just barely more than the largest ever recorded Gorilla (266 kg). The largest grizzlies are 660 kg. I just re-checked the weights for average. The 266 kg Gorilla is morbidly obese and in captivity, most wild Gorillas would weigh between 135 and 180 kg.

Gorillas are ****ing strong critters, but so are grizzlies. Gorillas are definitely a bit smarter and I'd bet on being better at climbing trees, but the grizzly has claws and really sharp teeth as well as an aggresive personality to boot.

Grizzly wins.
