It's not a magical pill. There are studies that show fasting can improve HGH and all the other benefits you mentioned, but in reality the effects are most likely so marginal it wouldn't make a different in your day-to-day life. 80/20 rule brah, focus on what really matters. Wanna lose weight? Simple. Consume less calories than you expend. No need to make things complicated.

I fasted for 1-2 years and I didn't notice anything. I actually dreaded the feeling of hunger from morning until afternoon. Once I stopped fasting and picked up eating a light breakfast I felt loads better.

I tried intermittent fasting for a few months at 18:6, eating between 2 and 8, all I can say I benefited from it was I felt a lot more alert and focused, but that was probably being hyped in anticipation of being able to actually eat something.

Starving yourself is stupid and the opposite of bodybuilding goals.

Pissening people even talk about this cope ass trash on here, they're just too lazy to track macros like they should.

90% of the time when people preach about "fasting" or "keto" they've been 145lbs for years despite going to the gym.

The other 10% are on gear so it doesn't matter what they do, they'll make progress.

I used to do IF for most of my cuts, but this year I am eating the same amount of calories - just without fasting and again tracking macros etc.

I feel much better with let's say 3 meals between the morning and evening, along with a couple of small snacks, rather than waiting until the afternoon to eat my first meal (along with training on an empty stomach).

fasting should only be a tool used to make life easier for cutting. It just doesn't make sense for bulking unless you're really too busy to even drink a protein shake for 5 minutes during the day.
All it takes is Mookie Betts, Steph Curry, and Joe Burrow all sitting in the same car in order for one drunk driver to make the world a significantly better place.

Noticed the same thing. I just feel a lot better when I eat something small in the morning as opposed to not eating anything.

It definitely has positive benefits but asking whether it works or not is hard to answer without knowing what you've heard it does

It's actually counter-productive on a cut because there's never a more important time to stay active and train hard in an attempt to preserve lean tissue.

On a cut you require even more protein than normal, which requires you to actually intake calories.. You can see where fasting is the opposite of this.

People that say otherwise aren't natural, OJ will preserve 100% of muscle even fasting.

Never listen to people being paid to tell you something in the fitness world.

That's because blood sugar stabilization is one of the largest factors in your mood & energy level, the body is designed to intake energy consistently during a 24 hour period.

A few positive unusual aspects from fasting do not outweigh the 100's of negative effects it also has, especially on a body in an energy deficit.

How so? You can fast and still preserve a good amount of lean mass by consuming adequate amounts of protein. Everyone will lose some lean mass on a natural cut. Fat free mass refers to water and connective tissue too, not just "muscle." Tons of people partake in fasted training/activity so that's clearly not a dealbreaker.

Are you referring to alternate-day fasting? I am pretty sure most people ITT are referring to intermittent fasting, which just allows you to cluster your calories into a smaller time window.

i do OMAD. there's no magic. it's simply a way of tricking you into eating less calories. i like it for convenience - i only have to worry about dinner. i also prefer working out on an empty stomach. black coffee in the morning only. water during the day. dinner around 4:30pm.

Have done IF, found it great for controlling hunger and making maintaining a deficit easier. Literally zero other benefits that I noticed, the endless composition improving, strength increasing, life changing hype is promotional ****e

The other week I did a 60 hour fast more out of curiosity than from hype. Got a lot leaner very quickly, lost no strength, lost no visible muscle volume, did not binge at all after. Actually mentally felt really good after the first 24 hours. As far as other benefits I didn't really notice any and is far too much effort to do often. Although I surprisingly didn't get that hungry physically I just missed eating too much.

If your question is "should I start fasting for life changing benefits" I would say the answer is no. I would recommendtryingIF if you are cutting and struggle to stick to your deficit. Eating more in one portion of the day can help as you are definitely satisfied for at least some of the time rather than just being perpetually 'not full'. It's not that hard to go without food for a morning and it never affected my training or strength. It's good for some people, not for others.
Somehow still managing to avoid getting 'too big'

Only time I’ve ever had full blown Adonis belt/ab veins was doing fasting and boxing. Take that for what you will
