What to use as after shave? (0k)

Always had issues with bumps on my neck after shaving, i've employed many techniques to reduce it (warming up the face as much as possible, leave the shaving cream sit on there for a while before shaving, go with the grain which is somewhat difficult on the neck, etc) but i still get some bumps afterwards even when using a new razor. Recommendations for some kind of aftershave would be much appreciated, misc.

forget about aftershave lotion. the key is the shaving itself -

1. don't blade shave - use a trimmer 2X a week instead if possible for a stubble look. Philips Norelco Multigroom Series 7000 Men's Rechargeable Trimmer.
2. if you absolutely must blade shave - use a Mach 3 blade along with Neutrogena Men Skin Clearing Shave Cream. try to always shave with the grain, not against it. and if you can skip a day or two in between shaves, do it.

The key is the shave itself not the after shave.


I had a beard since I was 12 srs, I tried all these fancy shaving products and none of them work.


Your best bet is to use hair conditioner because its smooth, also apply shampoo at the same time, then proceed to shave.

Also use hydro sheik, not that gilette bs

Wash your hands before shaving, don't blade an area too much and void touching your face, cold water to close the pores after a shave. Use a clean towel and dab your face afterwards with it.

Washing your face thoroughly before shaving can also help and using a balm instead of a alc aftershave can work soothing, but alc is goat.

p.s. i forgot the most important tip - shave in the shower! buy a fog-free shower shaving mirror and shave in a hot steamy shower! return the blade to a safe dry place away from the shower when finished. moisture will dull the blade over time. you always want to use a sharp blade.

Don't make multiple passes over unprotected skin. Reapply shaving cream if you have to. Make sure you replace your blade if it's starts tugging. Just use lotion on your face after you're done shaving, I think most of the bumps come from dry skin, which shaving by nature dries out your skin. So you basically need to mitigate the dryness.

i'm going into a finance job so probably will need to be clean shaven. right now i do every 2-3 days. i personally don't feel i pull off the stubble look anyway

thanks will try. i feel you brah, i started growing facial hair around 13 lol. i've been using schick but unsure of which product line it is.

never thought about this. I get acne etc so i use way too many products on my face. i'll try cetaphil lotion, which is one of the few that doesn't irritate my skin

I was never able to get rid of razor bumps, could only kinda minimize.

Always got little bumps on my neck, ingrown hairs.

It was barely noticeable to others but if I kept shaving too often I'm sure it would get worse.

Luckily job doesn't mind so long as keep it trimmed so I haven't been clean shaven in years.

It could just be that your skin is too sensitive, that's what it was in my case, I don't think anything would fix it.
