TENET sucks d!ck.

I love Christopher Nolan, but his head is so far up his ass sometimes that I think he's lost sight of what makes a movie enjoyable sometimes. Inb4 I wasn't smart enough to get it. Don't care. I love watching movies of all genres and countries. But when a film depends on ingenuity so much, it actually does a disservice to its audience. Film sucks. Also, Denzel Washington's kid doesn't have his charm nor his acting skills.

I am genuinely curious - has his son done anything to warrant being the lead of such a big movie? His acting is just a tad better than Gina Carano's in the movie Haywire. Like you could tell the editor and actors around him had to carry him through the movie.

No. He was the lead of Ballers. Which is like Entourage but with NFL players. The Rock was the other star in that show to give you an idea of the tone of the show. Then he got a role in BlackKlansman but Spike lee (director) is a good friend of Denzels I believe. Before Ballers he was a running back in the NFL lmao. He is the definition of nepotism. You can also feel he is trying to lean into his dads charm a bit by trying to talk and swagger like him but it just seems forced and sad. I knew this movie would disappoint. I mean look at the other leads in Nolans films. Guy pierce (memento), christian bale (prestige), christian bale (batman trilogy), DiCaprio (inception), mcconaghey (interstellar). then denzels nepotismmaxxed son who's only real acting experience is playing a young thuggish pro football player. The guy he plays in Ballers drives expensive sports cars, goes on yachts parties, fights dudes in clubs. its not exactly a deep character study piece. And he played in the NFL irl so no acting involved really.

There's a part in the movie where he's talking to the lead actress, and he kept doing some weird nervous tick of his shoulders. It looked like he was shimmying. Like, wtf, dude. Didn't help that some of the dialogue was bad. When a security guy is frisking him, he responds, "Whoa, usually when somebody gets that close, they buy me dinner first." Damn, how original.

cant bring myself to drop 20 bucks on this movie when the lead nepotismmaxxed to get the role. looks like a ****ty action film. There are so many good black actors that deserve a role like that who would've killed it. I would've loved to see Mahershala Ali, or Laurence fishbone or even Anthony Mackie. Hell Denzel himself could've done it.

Denzel is one of my favorite actors. Him in a Christopher Nolan movie, one that isn't about loving the smell of its own farts, would be awesome.

Honestly I had zero clue about the entire plot. I still don't. Because I couldn't understand about 80% of the dialogue. The sound was horrible in my PS4 pro.

He was good as the lead in BlacKKKlansman, and I thought he was good in this one as well, srs.
Robert Patterson is one of the most underrated actors around, too.

I thought the movie was pretty bad though, so definitely agree with OP. It didn’t suck dick, but it definitely was bad.
Real Madrid, Miami Heat, New York Jets.

Some people were complaining about the same thing. Nolan is mixing the sounds of his movie where the dialogue almost gets drowned out by the music or something. Why he does that, I don't know. Maybe he thinks the music dictates the emotions.

Hey, respect your opinion. But I just did not get why this guy got this role. It reminds me of an actor like Hayden Christiansen. He was like good in 1 movie called Shattered Glass, but was ass in all his other roles. Hehe. Like the other poster was saying - there were so many other good actors, black actors if they have to be, that could have taken this role.

He's the Drake of directors.
Christopher Nolan movies, at least some of them, are the opposite of accessible. If people had a difficult time understanding Inception, they will be fukked with this movie.

Christopher Nolan makes boring, shallow movies. Every character goes on boring, tedious monologues explaining the plot, their motivations, their mother's Maiden name. If you point this out people go"You just aren't smart enough to understand them!"Oh I understand them all right. I understand Nolan never heard the phrase "Show, don't tell." His action sequences also suck."Zoom in real close and shake the camera. Fuk panning shots and cinematography, let's just put a speech in here."

Nolan sucks.

In contrast, the show the lead actor is from, apparently, was Ballers. And make no mistake, Ballers is just as shallow as Nolan movies. But through sheer stupidity and ridiculousness, Ballers manages to be entertaining in a C-Movie kinda way. The best part of Ballers is the "Inside the Episode" where the weirdo, paedo looking director goes into great detail about the most simplistic plot devices and character arcs in history like it's Shakespeare. More entertaining than the show.
