Have been out of the crypto world for a while now, but some of the old chit i was invested in was at the levels it used to be back when i had big holds. Whats everyones take?

It is pretty clear what's going to happen with the defi craze (aside from a defi correction). Much has been said about chitcoins not being able to survive on their own, no working product, lack of mass adoption, etc. That may be true, but the future is blockchain. We'll need a handful of base layers, ETH, EOS, ADA, etc, next layer will be the Links, XTZs, and the top layer will be everything else. Legacy corps will need to adapt and will probably buy out whatever shtcoin suits their fancy, if they already aren't fronting them in the first place.

YFI has no reps. Its completely community owned - no premine, no ICO. The LINK you own actually has reps where the owners own 70% of the stake.

Same can be said for virtually any other coin except Bitcoin. It will pullback but has long term value, the fact i and others didnt sell at 40k USD should tell you its not a ponzi.

Yeah YFI is crazy right now. Andre definitely said its a ponzi of sorts yesterday during his talk with Sergey (link), Kain(snx), and Stani(aave). It was a pretty lulzy talk, all of them talking where they see Defi going. Should be uploaded in about a week. If the code doesn't suffer from some unforeseen **** and the system is compromised, I think it will do great. I am really rooting for it. I don't own any but I literally cannot wait for them to get the insurance vaults. Would be so happy to put in a decent portion of my link stack. I recently tested the waters with a small amount of link and earned about .005% in a week, will be awesome with a decent amount in there.


I really hope Defi keeps going strong, and doesn't suffer any major setbacks. Things are going to get super comfy just holding coins for long periods (though they already have been for me at least).

I think it also might be possible to get a loan on your crypto and get paid in a stable coin and not have to pay taxes, and just keep holding.

There is a part of me that can't help but think that the fact that it actually is 40k is a blatant sign that it's a scheme.

Price is irrelevant, it has a 30,000 supply. Market capitalisation is all that matters.

Just because it is $40,000 USD, doesnt mean the project is worth 3.8x Bitcoin ($11,000 USD).

Funnily enough the community voted against a token split of 1:100 ratio. This would have made the tokens $300 each while maintaining the same market cap. The communties logic for keeping the price high, is that they didn't want to cripple the project with speculators that don't look at supply/market capitalisation.

I mean hell, if I threw a dart at the board and it went from 1k to 40k in a month I wouldn’t sell either. I’d want to see how much Gas this thing has left too for such a small investment to huge ROI. Almost for comedy sake.

I’m ok with the majority stack Lnk being owned by the team/Serg. I’ve bought into the project since 2017 and I actually believe in it hence the investment. I’ve made my gains and then some...and I think Serg actually wants to deliver. Regarding YFI by rep I meant a dev....without name dropping...but I guess it doesn’t really matter. Ofcourse there is a 30,000 supply or 1gizzillion supply, or 0 supply. It’s all fabricated until it’s not. I for one will not be getting into YFI. Hearing what Andre said I won’t touch it. He’s one cheeky SOB and I can’t say I’d trust him. He was also the only ONE speaker (out of what 100+?) that didn’t put a live vid/camera feed up...instead that stupid side eye still pic. But the fact is I guess I’d rather have him on my side (being a big fan of the projects I’m invested in) than on the opposing team

You don't put up 100k BAT into this kind of stuff unless you are an elite tier degenerate. Balancer pools keep your assets pegged to their pair. So in the case of BAT/YFV 98/2 if the price of YFV goes down it auto liquidates your BAT to bring the ratio back by giving you more YFV. So if a degenerate platform like YFV ends up having a bug you could have your whole stack rebalanced if you put all your BAT into the pool.

Pretty degenerate stuff.

SBF_Alameda put $30m from accounts associated with his derivatives exchange (FTX) into sushiswap.

If the smart contract on any of the pools brick (i.e. Yam), he potentially loses $30m of customer funds. High levels of degeneracy, but it is only people that engage in the ultimate levels of degeneracy that get a ticket to the citadel.

I saw this earlier and it was a huge wtf moment. I was degenmaxxing with maker CDP's and compound yield farming before it was the cool thing to do, but the contracts were audited and I sure as hell wasn't using my full stack. But $30m in an unaudited contract is a huge punt. So much can go wrong like someone losing multi-sig keys, putting token minting into the contract like with oyster prl, etc etc.

These things are moving fast too and thats why i got out of compound. Rushing governance proposals is one thing, but piling $30m into rushed smart contracts is just a whole other level of wtf.

gas.pool

you pool together a ton of small assets and lump them into one large pool that does degen crypto plays so you save on gas fees and then its all split up at the end.

Feels like ETH taking the lead with the volume. So many Defi projects running on the network and the high gas fees bodes well for ETH's price.
