I haven't used the radio when I drive for like 4 years now. I have my iPhone hooked up to my radio and play/stream whatever I want.

Every used car I've bought came with a horrible CD "mix" the former owner left behind

Rip being able to play those

Whats hilarious is cars still coming with cigarette lighter/ashtray combos in the vape era

I'm more pissed that they hardly make laptops/computers with CD drives anymore.

BRB still own many DVD's that I'm not buying all over on ***gy virtual copies.

It is old tech. I sometimes wish my new vehicle had CD playing capabilities.

Digital copy = way too many things that can go wrong.

Hard copy = just don't be a slob with your **** and it will last for many, many years.

Now with a car not having CD player is understandable.

Not for devices people use at home though.

The last time I bought a CD was in 2018 lol. I actually love getting my favorite albums on CD because it's still a legit good way to listen to music. Same thing with vinyl, which has actually seen a HUGE resurgence in recent years. The sound quality is excellent.

My first car was a 2007 Sonata with a CD player, which I still own and occasionally drive. I like keeping all of my AIC, Deftones, Coheed, Tool, etc CD's in that ride since it doesn't have bluetooth. I used to use FM transmitters as well (AUX cable to dedicated channel) which worked, but it's hit or miss. But then again, CD's also get scratched up and easily damaged, so yeah, kind of clunky carrying those around everywhere.

I got a 2020 Camry before COVID-19 hit and it's been awesome for bluetooth. I don't miss using CD's, but sometimes I'd rather not use Spotify or a downloaded MP3 or iTunes or whatever. I kind of wish CD players were still an option, but whatever, modern technology is way more slick.

It's so rare to see a cigarette lighter that I make a point to point one of whenever I see one.

Yeah, biggest thing for me is having to rely on my phone battery or internet connection. Can just pop the CD right in there and roll.

I only buy laptops that have CD drives.

They're becoming increasingly harder to find.

It’s a really stupid decision to alienate your older customer base who still uses them.

I doubt the cost could really be so high to justify removing them.

Funny how cd’s make you look like a boomer while DVD’s not as much. yet they’re the exact same thing, physically.

I agree with OP, I wouldn't and have not bought a new vehicle without one, Perhaps I am a black sheep but I enjoy going to the store on release day and physically supporting the artist.

I also have a rather large vinyl collection, (2,372) (catalogued) and continually growing, That I listen to on the daily.

Every time I have people over to the man cave (What I call The Voodoo Lounge) there eyes light up looking through them and selecting one.

I have never had anyone ever, Say "Hey can I look through your playlist?"

It's just more cuckening

Most people don't realize their monthly paid subscriptions to stream music not only costs more, but the music is low quality bit-rate vs CD which is virtually lossless

When it comes to music, people have always chosen convenience and portability over quality.

if only there was some type of hard drive you can have to back your computer up, or if there was some sort of free cloud service to save your files
