i think too much funny cheap money from government loans is to blame. it caused a bubble in college tuition. i have a solution. in order for a college to be able to accept government loan money, it must agree to only increase tuition equal to the increase of the CPI/Inflation. in other words, colleges can charge whatever they want, but if you want government money loans, you must have reasonable tuition inflation rates ie 3-4% max. right now they are increasing tuition at 8%+ so it doubles every 9 years.

Basically the housing crisis sans houses

Colleges started to base tuitions on how much the average student could borrow + financial industries came rushing in to service those loans knowing that they were guaranteed

ALSO

UNBRIDLED IMMIGRATION PUSHED UP THE COST OF HOUSING IN MANY AREAS WHERE STUDENTS USED LIVE

I think governments should stop doing loans. Forces college to charge cheaper prices
