TSLA is a meme stock. Don't try to make sense of it using any sort of fundamentals. It should be $150/share.

People are looking for the next Apple. Tsla fits a lot of that same shape. They aren't investing in Tesla anyway. They're investing in Musk.
It's pure speculation

It’s speculation about what the future will look like. Could pay off big in 20 years but clearly not based on current revenue.
“The Misc. is a stone-faced Uncle Sam with Popeye’s forearms and a cocked pistol in each hand. It’s a screeching bald eagle with a foreign Bad Thing in its talons. It’s everything that defines America’s bro culture, magnified and weaponized. But it’s deeper than that.“

He outsources tech to the ccp in return for billions in investing in his stock. Probably gets lithium directly from them at a wholesale price as well to make cheap batteries
Huge in Vancouver, which is like 50% Chinese so there’s that too

It's a publicly traded stock, so it's value is whatever people are willing to pay for it-this is the free market. Now, as to WHY people are continuing to put money into it? That's a better question. But let me say this: Tesla may be the most well-known auto manufacturer in the world. Everyone knows the brand and the EV concept. This is true even though the company has never sold more than 500,000 cars a year and only just recently put together four profitable quarters. Can you imagine what their profits would be if they sold several million cars a year, like Toyota or Volkswagen? It would be astronomical. And Tesla's market share will only increase going forward.
There are also several other short-and-long term factors. "Battery Day" is September 22 and apparently Musk is set to debut some groundbreaking new tech there. Long investors are getting in expecting a boost after that day and shorts are also getting in ready to profit from a drop in price if the technology underwhelms. In the longer-term, inclusion into the S &P 500 (which seems like an inevitability at this point) will force fund managers everywhere to increase their holdings of Tesla to match the index and this will also drive up the share price. Also, you have to consider the autonomous play. If every taxi cab in NYC and LA was replaced by an self-driving Tesla, that is huge.

Who cares if they go back into the shop? They literally come out and give you a new car at your house then return the car when its done (thats what happens when you adopt forward tech)
Some will say they feel cheap. Others appreciate the minimalist cabin. What feels cheap to me are american cars with plastic dashboards and cloth headliners.
As a car guy, I appreciate all types and Tesla is one of them. I was going to buy a P100D this year but decided to forgo the purchase and buy the stock.....If all plays out right, the P100D will pay for itself 3x over LOL
