What are some books you've read that have valuable life lessons or left you mindblown about life? Kinda like Way of the Peaceful Warrior, Atlas Shrugged, or Moby Dick (or so I've heard). Basically just looking for a fictional book where I can learn while also gaining a new perspective on life. For anyone who's aware, about to finish Tuesdays with Morrie and looking for a similar read.

Reps for good suggestions.

I agree.

Atlas Shrugged IMO had too many characters launching into philosophical monologues that lasted pages. I much preferred The Fountainhead, it was more subtle.

The Alchemist is probably the most famous by Paulo Coelho, who has a tons of novels/fiction with strong and great deep messages.

I just finished that book.

I temporarily got really pissed off by the nihilism and anti-theism of the book, however the 'punchline' was hilarious. I went to bed chuckling to myself about it... Genius. Ending gave me feels.

Then I learned that whilst Vonnegut was a Secular Humanist, he wasn't as rabidly against Christianity as that novel might have made him seem. He even seemed to have affection for the virtues presented by Jesus in the gospels.

Yeah I used to but started slacking off. It really does improve my mindset when I keep up with it.I pity myself for letting it get this bad srs.

I'll check this out. Personally I've always felt like that about lifelong playboys as I'm sure it gets unfulfilling after a while so sounds like it would be a good read.
