Coach isn't relevant here. They just need someone KD and Kyrie respect enough to not totally tune out. Presumably they talked with KD and Kyrie about this hire so I'm sure it's fine. Keeping them happy is what will keep the team steady. Short of making/winning the finals or at least the ECF any coach will be viewed as a failure.
