Anyone else “double jointed?”

I can dislocate my index finger at will then just pop it back into place, and I can bend it all the way back until it touches the back of my hand. Half the people I meet think it’s super cool, the other half are usually disgusted lol

You’re not double jointed then lmao. I’m only double jointed in my hand and it’s not painful in any way to bend it back all the way, can only do it with my index finger though

Double jointed simply means loose and extremely flexible joints.

My wife can bend all her fingers backwards till they are flat with the back of her hand. Can do it over and over, no issues and nothing comes out of the socket.

Yes I’m aware, that’s why I put the quotes around it. And she can’t dislocate her finger can she? It doesn’t just randomly come out of the socket I have to intentionally do it lol

Just looked that up, I don’t have any of those symptoms except for flexible joints. Which is only in one finger

There are many different types and symptoms from flexible joints to severe joint issues

You’re scaring me brah, read the avg life expectancy is 48 for those that have it...

Also read it’s inherited but no one in my family had anything like that as far as I know.

Hopefully I’m just being paranoid bc the only over flexible joint in my body is my left hand index finger

lol like I said there are like 13 different types. If all you have is flexible / loose joints you either have a mild case or probably no case at all. don't worry bro

Edit: If you're worried go see a doctor - you can get the George Costanza "get outta here" response from the doctor

You didn’t say there are 13 types. But that’s reassuring. I was doing some research on it and most of those people have over flexibility in all their joints and they bruise easily. Neither of which I have
