I gave up last year after this one girl who my friends wife tried to set me up with. Everything should have been perfect:

1. Her friend approved of me and insisted we try
2. I am not some stranger online
3. In the town we live in, we would both be outliers in the demographics so it's not like either of us have some dynamic social/sex life
4. She lived down the street from me
5. We both have similar careers
6. I'm not hideous/obese nor retarded

Texted her and literally her first text was "Hi. I'm not interested thanks". I knew if it didn't work with someone like her, it would likely not work with anyone

It's likely I need to move but I'm in a career situation where thats not possible atm
