The depressing part is the average adult that learns a second language will never have more than an elementary school level of vocabulary no matter how long they study.

It's because you're associating words with their English counter part and not their concrete or abstract representation

I've come to the conclusion that I'll never learn a second language. I just don't have the time or the willingness to take time away from other things I enjoy to do it

main reason languages interest me is because i like travelling to a country(ies) who speak it, and obvi speaking any amount of it makes your trip so much better.

some i havent been to yet. like Russian/russia/balkans that speak russian etc, but it interestsme and i will one day

Best way to learn a language is to date someone who speaks the language.

Using "shadowing" will help because you are too busy and have no time for translating what you are listening to into your native language in your head while you are doing it.

Listens to a recording of target language audio (movies and songs will do) or live broadcasting news, and simultaneously echoes/repeats what you hear.

Someday you may find yourself start translating again in your head but it doesn't matter because at that time your language skill will have reached the level simultaneous interpreters enjoy.

Besides it is quite fun. Have you ever mimicking your friends by saying what they are saying before they even finish the sentence when you are a child? It's like that.

Don't worry you'll be there I promise and good luck!

It's normal and just an obstacle/wall every honest and serious language learner faces at some point of their study.

Start with slower materials will help you familiarize yourself with the method.

LOL, soon you'll find yourself also imitating speakers voice, tone and expression on their faces.

Sean Connery Impressions are real fun always!
