Publically Sympathizing with People Who Commit Suicide

...does society more harm than good. Influences tons more people to commit to suicide when they fantasize about the pity party theyll get afterward.

Othoh, shaming suicide does more collective good than harm.

Agree or disagree?

P.S. not saying all suicides are equal and are the attention seeking types but seems like we're trending in this direction especially with younger, more impressionable people.

Even if pretending to care about suicides did have a positive impact I don't think enough extra soycucks would off themselves to make it worth the effort.

Yes, obviously. That's why they write notes, do it in public, and record themselves.

That chit was brutal

People who commit suicide are selfish and cowardly. They don't care how itll effect their loved ones and friends. I actually attempted suicide after my grandfather died. Im glad I'm still here. Its been 8 years since I did something that fuked up. Now, I would never do that again because I know I'm worth it and I was put on this earth for a damn good reason.

That dude took the easy way out and didn't even try getting help for his issues instead of blasting himself so the whole world could see including his mother. The guy was a pussy. All because his girlfriend left and lost his job lmao. Coward.

Some people get into a place where they truly believe they are a burden to everyone they love, they really do believe it would be better for everyone else if they are not there, most of the time its not true and absolutely the worst decision...but the mind plays tricks...we should not promote suicide, but to think it's just a complete coward mindset is wrong and a lack of understanding imo.

the kid was a mentally weak pussy. Couldn't handle what life threw at him. He should've gotten help. But, he didn't value himself or his life enough to talk to someone and get therapy.

He was a ******* hipster too. Good riddance weakcel

Do people generally sympathise with the person who killed themselves, or with their family?

My immediate thought is always, omg I feel bad for their parents! And my second thought is, wow they must have been in a LOT of pain.

Thats an interesting viewpoint, never thought of it but I think you're right. The same way the news should stop reporting the names of mass shooters IMO.

Agree. The singer to Lincoln Park was the perfect example. He sang about and in the end (no pun intended) he killed himself. People sympathized with him because of his music and people said he talked about it, etc.

In reality he left a wife and 3 beautiful daughters alone without a father who will now spend their lives thinking they are the reason why or can't understand why he would kill himself instead of being with his family who loved him. People don't see it that way. They see it as "sad mr. celebrity was struggling and had to do what he had to do."

It's appalling. I can maybe see something like near death and puling the plug or letting go scenarios in major medical issues, but 99.9% of the time is just selfish and destructive to society and communities/families.

people that have the balls to not back down when chit gets real and die don't care about pity parties bruh

there is a huge difference between being hopeless (lowest pits of depression) and the final act of giving up on your existence via direct physical action that you 100% have to be honest with yourself about

It's like when the names and story of the mass murderers becomes tv shows and household names. Perhaps suicides, don't even do a funeral, just dispose of the body and carry on. Kind of hard when it's someone you love though.

Like OP said, they are all different.

Yes, let’s shame people who commit suicide... surely that’ll convince others from committing suicide because they don’t want to be considered weak gay losers by edge lords like ppl itt. Shaming people with severe mental illness just does more good than harm.

mental illness shouldn't even be a word people know or use

acknowledging that it's there makes it happen more often/makes people suffer

people should be responsible for their own heads, you can't place the care of your own head with someone else that's fkd up. mental illness happens because people warp your view of reality. acknowledging it and telling people "it's ok" makes it happen more often/spread like a disease

You think America is fuked up because people are acknowledging mental illness? Most people, especially men, don’t seek help or even talk about it. America is fuked up because of social and political issues, which can most definitely cause mental instabilities. Simply not acknowledging it doesn’t make it go away, it just makes it this mysterious thing people suffer from. Without acknowledging it, we can’t study it, without studying it, it grows without anyone knowing how to deal with it... and more people are more likely to run into idiots who are unequipped to handle someone that’s suffering from this mysterious issue.... which could lead to even more problems.

You saying “people should be responsible for their own heads lol” doesn’t work and is the most tone deaf thing you can say to someone suffering from it. Telling people “it’s ok” is nowhere near the only thing someone who’s qualified in dealing with these people say or do.

OK well pretending to care about each other (in America 2020 lol) and not caring is more sinister than being truthful and saying "deal with it yourself" or "that's not normal deal with it yourself"

Having a culture where people pretend to GAF about each others mental well being when they 100% do not is more sinister than being upfront that people need to be responsible for themselves

Maybe that's what all this SJW propaganda chit is being pushed for. So that people soften up and hear about things like "microagressions" or something and think wow people care about my mental well-being when in fact nobody gives a chit and you're digging yourself a hole by thinking that other people have your best intentions out for you

But I'm just vomiting words on my keyboard lol
