Coping with gym noob friends

Some of my friends have started hitting the gym recently, and they seem to believe in some common fitness myths. You know, the same stuff you sometimes see on these forums like: "Here's a meal plan I just bought that will help me build muscle and lose fat, is this good?"

Am I supposed to "fake agree" with them to seem supportive, or straight up tell them that they need to do some research? I feel bad knowing they've got it wrong but I don't want to seem like a party pooper. In the meal plan example, I can already see them asking me in 3 months: "How have I not lost any fat when I've been eating so healthy???"

Seriously, what would you guys do? Be supportive? Tell them the facts? Just ignore it?

Also post some of your noob stories for the lolz

Give them tips but ultimately let them do their own thing.

they're not opinions though, they're literally misconceptions but i'd probably still come off as an ass

someone thinks keto is the best? opinion

someone thinks the right foods burn fat with zero mention of calories? misconception

Then you need to straight up tell them to get off the fad train. Do some research, try new things, and see what works. That doesn't make you a dick. The only thing between a concerned person and a dick is the delivery.

Depends what kind of people they are. All of my friends are fairly intelligent and real so they would be able to handle me telling them that they are retarded for buying a "meal plan". Maybe your friends are mask advocates who just listen to whatever they've been told that sounds nice.

Bottom line you should know your friends better than we do and how to go about this.

It depends, are they asking your opinion or do they just want you to agree? Ask them.

I just tell them my own practice. If you have experience trying what they're talking about then give your experience.

A lot of focused practices are for people in a specific circumstance and aren't supposed to be considered "better," and I think it's pretty easy to figure out if you should do like intermittent fasting or something if you for instance can't really feel like eating in the morning. etc etc.

Don't train with noobs who phuk around and waste time. If they wanna buy into bs gimmicks then that's on them and it's also on them to train alone and make no gains too srs

I usually call them retards explain why xyz is bullchit and that they can look it up themselves and leave it at that.
I gave up on trying to overly convince people after this idiot at my job convinced my friend and coworkers to spend 200 dollar on bullchit fake supps thinking it was oral juice.

The chit like Trenorol Decaduro etc. any retard with eyes could just have read the ingredient but argued with those idiots for a while about it.
Coworker still thinks it’s legit but convinced my friend at least.
People will believe what they want
