Calling it now, transgenderism is the new emo for the current generation

Title. Getting older, I'm surrounded with my girlfriends nieces, nephews, etc. Basically, I'm by kids whenever i head over by her. And they love social media, they love tik tok, they love all that ****. One thing you see A LOT of the kids doing is putting 'he/his', 'she/her', 'they/their'?, 'xe/xur', on their profiles.

My girl has had a conversation with some of these chicks who claim to be dudes to find out why they think they're dudes and it's usually some dumb **** like "I have no tits"..."my shoulders are wide"..."i like playing basketball"..."i like hanging out with boys". Like yo, you're like 12 - obviously there's nothing there. But this is so ingrained in internet culture, they legit get offended.

Actually, as i'm typing this i don't think transgenderism is the new emo for kids but I think emo-ness evolved to include transgenderism. I feel like they're going to get older and be like "Oh....right, i can be a female who likes basketball. A female who skateboards and hangs out with the boys. My shoulders are wide because of genetics.

Note: i'm not saying i have issues with transgenderism with older folks. IDGAF, they're adults, they can do whatever they want.

I have a 16 year old niece who says she's identifies as a boy and is gay because she has a boyfriend. He's 100% straight apparently. She has no intention of transitioning because she says she's very feminine and likes being girly. She also admits it might be a phase that she grows out of. She dresses like a girl and you would never think she was a gay boy.

And you know what OP, she's a massive emo/goth. So you might be onto something....

That's the most baffling part to me. Gender identity is nothing more than regressive gender roles and stereotypes. I don't know who needs to hear this, but you can be a female and like basketball and you are still a girl.

Many reports coming out of kids who are either girls and into Tom Boy sort of things and boys who are a bit feminine and like pink etc being referred by their parents to orgs such as Mermaids as they suspect their kid is Trans. These orgs will then try to convince the kid they are in fact born into the wrong body and should get treatment such as puberty blockers etc.

Down the road, many of these inevitably "de-trans". TRAs do their best to pretend these people don't exist and also try to gas light people into thinking these treatments are reversible.

10 years ago people will go:

"Ah, she's one of those girls who likes rugby"

"Guess he's a David Beckham-type"

Now it's:

"There is something wrong with my girl. She likes rugby. Must be a boy in a girl's body. Best send them to a consultant to see if they can change their body as it's wrong. Only boys like rugby"

"There is something wrong with my boy. He likes wearing pink. Only girls like pink. Best send him to somebody whose job it is to tell such kids that they're trans, thus born into the wrong body"

They call it progress. I call it something akin to gay conversion therapy. Actually, that's what the cotton ceiling is. Literally gay conversion therapy. The above is saying that girls can only like pink, fluffy things and boys can only like Action Man. If they don't they're defective.

Damn, son. We 1950s all over again.

This video was pretty interesting. Definitely reminded me of my generations eating disorders or self harm. Except these days not conforming to your gender gives you oppression points and love/encouragement from the progressives. So makes perfect sense to decide being trans is "the answer" to their problems.

I also went on tiktok for two weeks and was blown away by the amount of young people talking about their very complex gender identity. That app is a propaganda machine.

But the entire Transgender/Gender Fluid to me seems like a trend, that will eventually be over in like 5-7 years. I really don't care about it at all, I'll call you what you want, and I support your right to choose, but I just feel like it will eventually just end and no one will really care.
