New dog just wants to hump

Jus adopted my first dog from the shelter on Monday. He is ~6 and is fixed. For the most part he is chill and well behaved, but when he wants to play, he just tries to hump me or my wife. He has zero interest in squeaker toys, or tug of war, or even like kong balls with treats in them. Dafuq? When he tries to hump, we push him off and tell him no, and will pet him etc when he stops. My wife has had a few dogs, but doesn't know what to do about this. I don't know Jack chit about dogs. What do misc?

Unlucky. Isn't it normal for them to play with toys though? He isn't even interested in chasing a ball. He seems to enjoy walks though, so it doesn't seem to be an aversion to exercise, it seems like he just doesn't get what he's supposed to do with the toys.

lol'd. I guess its fairly normal for them to try to hump even if they're fixed? Wife's dogs never tried to hump people but they were ankle biters, and this dog is medium-sized.
