After reading many reviews and interviews I see that the director had a legit message she was trying to portray. Being a muslim young girl in a muslim strict conservative environment while also living in Paris in today's hypersexualized world and all the tensions that arise with it. Haven't seen it won't see it because I don't even have the time but It seems that it's not a paedo fest and the director (a black migran muslim woman) was trying to portray what young girls like her go through when cultures clash and so on.

It seems that she went overboard with the edginess tho as puritan right wingers are losing their chit. As pretty much phucking everything in 2020 this is becoming heavily politized.

You do realize that Western cutlure ACTUALLY sexualizes children and that hypersexualization is real thing and I can only imagine what mess it makes ina childs mind, Imagine being an eleven year old girl and watching WAP cardi B videos or whatever, that's gonna take a heavy toll on a childs mind. The problem is not the movie itself its the whole hypersexualized culture that we live in, do you really think that if this movie gets cancelled the whole problem with hypersexualization and hyperconsumerism is just going to dissapear? LOL

If you're sickened by this movie look at what's behind (western culture) not the movie itself/10

Had a Bumble date with the daughter of Mr. Lyons. He was once a producer for Breaking Bad and moved onto Netflix. She was no longer on speaking terms with him. Described him as a terrible person. I'd say that seems accurate.

I also had an experience with a Netflix documentary about UFOs during which the intro credits involved a montage some of the worst, most disturbing, imagery I'd ever seen. It had no good reason to be included and was made infinitely more evil by the background music...Wonderful World by Louie Armstrong. Evil people at work.

It's now a heavily politized movie, most movie critics are with the majority of writers and english mayors lean heavily to the left. So that movie is part of "their team" as retarded as it sounds they're gonna defend it like gospel. Same with anything woke this days (this applies to both sides of the political spectrum)

Oh I'm not arguing that it is justified or well done at all. Just posted up what the filmmaker said. Said it was meant to be "shocking and uncomfortable".

Haven't watched any clips or anything. Do wonder how you couldn't create that sense of unease without graphic type close ups of the girls' bodies. Would shots of the girls faces/expressions not have gotten the message across?

Don't have to convince me. I have a teen age daughter. She didn't even have a bikini when she was a toddler. Established early on that if she wanted to wear revealing clothing she was going to have to earn the money and buy them herself.

And she actually turned out to be modest re:nudity anyway. At least so far.

General idea is that the movie creator says she meant for it to be an exploration/condemnation of the hypersexual West; aka "good intentions".
You can't make a film saying "child sexualization is bad" while including child sexualization, because somewhere, in some creepy fap den, someone is watching it just to see children sexualized. She still had 11 year olds twerk. I feel similarly about The Handmaids Tale, some incel loser is definitely jacking off to the kidnapping, forced reproduction and sexual assault of women. This is abhorrent and ped0philic. Doesn't matter if that wasn't the intent of the director.

I cannot fully justify the movie since I watched only the trailer. What I have seen from the trailer does not seem problematic to me, but like some smart and interesting social commentary.

It does not look like child pornography at all to me. If it actually is like the trailer suggests, I have no problem with it. It's kids dancing in the same suggestive poses modern popstars do. Will some p*dos out there masturbate to those scenes? Probably. But than again they might masturbate to some kids involved in cute love scenes from some 80s kids movie as well.
I remember back, when I was a teen some people criticized Passion of Christ as BDSM porn, someting I would have never seen there. Googling the two terms together now, I actually found pages recommending Passion of Christ as fap material together with Silence of the Lambs. Yeah, it's pretty shocking, there are seemingly people with a cannibalism fetish out there, who see Silence of Lambs as erotic, but it's hard to stop all kinds of sickos without censoring everything.
The movie does not seem to overly sexualize kids to me, especially considering there is Anime out there, which already blatantly does it in a way worse way.

As of art, there are few things, that should be forbidden. Child pornography is one. But that should be limited to actual child pornography and not just people dancing. In general people should be a lot loser with censorship though. The US is far from the bastion of free speech it claims to be, when it comes to it's pretty Victorian obscenity laws.

Also true. Very surprising to see the pearl-clutching over the last few months when shows like Toddlers and Tiaras and Dance Moms have been on the air for years.

I agree it is not right or proper. I'm just saying that's the message that the director or the marketing team behind the movie poorly tried to portray. But let's be real tea for a moment the problem goes beyond this movie, our society at all levels is extremely heavily sexualized in unhealthy ways, just look at tiktok for example is a disgusting paedo fantasy.

Take a look at porn for example is downright gross, barely adult women doing weird incestual fantasies and petabytes and petabytes available for the average coomer to consume with all kinds of depravity. Look at beauty peagants of all ages too it's pretty much a meat market , cardi B videos and so on everything is hypersexualized. Also the whole onlyfans phenomenom and so on and so on, hypersexualization is a result of hyperconsumerism where everything likes any value apart from the comercial value in it self.

We're living in a post-belief society where nothing is sacred and the only option available is to consoome, pathetic.

I'm not "defending" the movie bro, did you even read my whole post?

I'm saying it's no surprise that a movie portrays hypersexualization in a real world that is already heavily hypersexualized. Is that a good thing? of course phucking not but let's not pretend that if the movie gets cancelled the whole problem goes away. It goes much much much deeper and it's deeply rooted in western culture and hyperconsumerism/capitalism itself.

That's the point i'm trying to make i don't give two phucks about the movie itself and I don't even have netflix

Yeah bro, they're getting to them. As ridiculous as this would have seemed 10 years ago, the insanity has just slowly been seeped into the culture to the point where it's being normalized. Absolutely mind blowing.

This. Slippery slope was right

In 10 years the left will be treating this as normal after pushing for its acceptance and promoting it like they do with trans children

They go hand in hand. They are not mutually exclusive. This movie directly contributes to the worsening of that culture, and every time someone like you makes an excuse because there was a "legit message" or says, "it's not that bad", the cultural norm is further and further fuked. Then when Cuties 2 is released in 2025 and there are 8 year olds finger banging each other on film, someone retard says, oh the message was ok, just blame western culture, not the movie, and the cycle repeats and we slip deeper into the disgusting degeneracy hole.

Ths **** is part of the problem, not just a product of it.
