This type of uproar is exactly what the director wants srs. From what I'm reading, the film is designed to be a criticism of a culture (particularly Western) that steers impressionable young girls towards the hypersexualization of their bodies. It's designed to make people uncomfortable, and it's designed to provoke a strong response.

Yeah it's chit. I messaged them on social media and signed the petition and was very disappointed when they chose just to change the poster and not get rid of it. However, we don't have a lot of streaming options in my country, so I won't be voting with my wallet on this one

That's not equivalent at all. These are child actors who signed up to be in a film designed to criticize exactly what's being depicted on screen. I dunno about calling it softcore child porn without having more context, that Parental Guide page on IMDB appears to be editable by any random fuk -- it already doesn't reflect the screenshot in the OP.

Art and media is a good way to affect change. This should make you uncomfortable, and it should make you question a culture that pushes young girls towards the hypersexualization of their bodies. That's entirely the point.
