How much is a 2x4x8 stud supposed to cost

Went to go buy some for a project and I swear it's like 3 times as much as it's supposed to be.

Maybe I'm off though, I haven't bought lumber in a couple years.

How much are you used to paying?

Worked at one right after high school and just a standard grade 2x4x8 was maybe 3 - 5 dollars a piece

Pressure treated prices have gone up even more than regular spf.

My lumber yard wasn't even sure they could get it for a few months there. Before it happened I secured ten lifts to keep our crew going. Supply is back to normal, but prices aren't

I build houses and let me tall ya.

Happy to be a preferred client that the lumberyards give us first crack at material.

They closed to retail sales this summer, meanwhile I have many lifts all set aside if I need them.

Prices shot up drastically during quarantine as everyone suddenly at home all day decided now was the perfect time for projects. It'll go back down once the supply gets normal

3.67 was each stud a couple months ago.

Pre-covid i remember it being 2.87 a stud. Damn i thought OP was getting ripped off but it went up a **** ton.
