Roommate went to Florida with his family LaborDay Weekend. Caught the Rona.

Dear Diary,

Guess him and the fam went boating, golfing, the whole bit. Asked him if he saw any of those Trump Boat Gatherings. He said there were a ton.

Got back monday, started feeling sick thursday, got the test and confirmed it.

Family went down as a group of 17. All of them got tested, 8 of them got it, and 9 appear to be fine. My younger brother caught it months ago too and their symptoms are the same. Weak as fuk, headache, occasional cough/sneeze. Can't smell or taste chit. Both my brother and roommate are 25/26 years old athlete-stallions.


Irritated because i was supposed to go smash my girl all weekend, but i've been sharing door handles, refrigerators, chairs and everything else with this dude all week and i don't want to risk getting her fuked up. Play stupid games win stupid prizes. neato.

That fukin sucks but at this point it's not playing stupid games, it's living life. Can't stay trapped forever. You'll all be fine, despite the setback. Can see how frustrating it is though. My little broseph caught it too.

I am 100% on board with this for the most part. I'm back at my BJJ gym, I go to restaurants, i'm living my life while obviously obeying rules and masking up when I go into hotspots.

We're in the northeast tho... know what i'm not doing? I'm not traveling to 1 of the 2 or 3 states that were exercising no restraints and are the hotbeds for the rona. He actually had to go out of his way with the whole fam and travel to that location to "live his life". That's what's irritating the fuk out of me. Everything will be fine i know but had a long annoying work week. looking forward to smashing my girl but can't because him and his YEEHAWass crew went and got rona'd

It’s actually nuts how fast this thing spreads, we just had a positive case in another company working nearby. Dude’s wife went to a funeral, picked it up there, spread it to him, he came to work for a day. Now there are 10 work contacts quarantined for 14 days because we don’t fuk around out here

I spent several days in Florida back when they were much worse off. Not Miami though. Spent most of my time on the beach and hardly any inside besides the gym which was empty. Didn’t get it. I guess a lot of it depends on what you do while you’re there.

Is it possible that one of them had it before the trip and spread it that way?

Kinda, main limitation is you don't rotate training partners anymore. Walk into gym with a mask and they use that electric thermometer to check your temp. No Gloves. No masks during training (ironically)

Funny you mention that. I'm a top 3% earner salarywise in the states. Make a stronk salaray. I planned on buying my first multi-family investment property this spring when i came home from paris.

I landed back in the country literally 3 days before trump issued the travel ban in March. I was crashing at my girls place and didn't know what to do. This was right when travel bans, and city shut downs were happening left and right. My best bud from college was deploying to the middle-east and said it would help him out if i stayed in his place while he was gone.

I didn't want to buy a property when we were at peak fear mongering for an economy/housing/job crash, and the rent for his room was only like $1000. I'm used to paying like $2600 for rent so I decided to just bite the bullet and do it while i watch how the economy, jobs, housing unfolds.

Meh seems hypocritical to be upset with him about this. You can get the rona at your gym or restaurants too.
