Yeah, I agree that retards on /r/personalfinance go too far telling you to live like a hobo so that you can be rich at 70 but you can invest your money properly so that you can be wealthier in say 5 years if you just sacrifice a bit right now.

Go look up life expectancy prediction variables. These are only a statistical model based on historic figures.
When you factor in true medical advances with 3d Printing and AI I would say those numbers are conservative. Millenials will likely comfortably hit 100 years in most cases, those born after 2000 might live well into their 150s if not forever.

If you think that is false consider the top causes of death:
1. Heart disease - Far more treatable now, and with 3D printing in 20 years it would be common to just get a new heart and valves printed with your own tissue. They already have synthetic versions of this with electrical mesh to make it pump
2. Cancer - AI and general food processing trends mean this will get reduced. Chemical and Radioactive treatment is far far far far better than even 60 years ago
3. Accidents - Everything is H&S. Even entry level cars have safety features far beyond luxury cars of 40 years ago
4. Respiratory disease - Lots of these are treatable currently. TB for example is folds lower than 80+ years ago. Lung cancer is still tricky but could still be solved in the next 100 years
5. Stroke - Also tricky and likely to one of the most difficult to fix, but that said, diet and general health contributes a lot of this.
6. Alzheirmers - Probably the only one we wouldnt be able to solve within the next 200 years.
7. Diabetes - Most people live comfortably with diabetes.
8. Flu and Pneumonia - Mostly kills very old people and the poor. Also not that difficult to get around as death is mostly environmental or comobidities which as mentioned above will be less of an issue.

TLDR: If you are likely going to live well into your 90s, wealth building up into your 50s or 60s is actually essential. Look at Stalone and Arnold. They are still living more active and baller lives than most of the sub 30 incels on this forum.

good budgeting esp if pure a business owner can make you a millionaire bwffpe 30. I'm living proof. yeah I missed out on a lot of my youth but I wouldn't trade it unless my beat friend was still alive.

But I agree with the notion that if you plan on getting rich, the plan should include an exit date before 70. Worst case, you're rich at 70.
