Wife struggles with sexless marriage to sick husband

A woman struggling in her 20-year marriage has revealed she’s tempted to do something “stupid”, saying “he’d never know”.
QUESTION: I love my husband but I’m not sure if I’m still in love with him. We’ve been together almost 20 years but over the past few years he’s suffered various health problems including impotence, memory loss and fatigue that causes him to sleep half the day. I work full-time and love nights out with my girlfriends, while he just seems to stay home and sleep. I’ve started to receive attention from other men and I’ve been tempted to stray.I’ve stopped myself before I’ve done anything stupid but I’m not sure how much longer I can stay in a marriage with no sex or passion. Part of me thinks my husband would never know or maybe even care if I cheated anyway. I don’t want to cheat on my sick husband but I feel like I might. I’ve tried to talk to him about how I feel and he says he’ll put more effort in but never does. What should I do?
JFL if you think she isn't already cheating but just wants validation to not feel like a sloot

Women are horrible disloyal creatures. Wish I was gay.. If he had a boyfriend/husband he'll 100% be standing by his man. Men are awesome but the thought of cuddling and kissing a man makes me sick to my stomach

Notice how no man ever uses the excuse "I work full time while the wife sits at home all day" as an excuse to cheat? Sloots gonna sloot. But in all seriousness it just goes to show that traditional gender roles make sense. It doesn't matter how 'strong, independent and equal' a woman is, she'll always want someone who provides and is superior to her.

bro... let's be serious. If you were a man in your prime and your wife was on chemo or some chit and became a total sexless ghoul on the verge of death and you had cuties hitting you up youd think about cheating too.

She probably already cheated and just wanted to see the reactions.

Just get a divorce, makes you a dirtbag but at least you would have honored your vows.

Also a 20 year marriage? How old is this lady? Mid 40s at least?

Jesus, I'm sorry but I dont plan on many boys nights out at 45. I want to relax on my property with my family. Shes one of these "Sex and the City" women who think life is a party.

I legit would never marry or date another female again srs. Once you know love there is no other.

The woman in the op wants a divorce but not the drama. That's it. She doesn't love him anymore because she didn't maintain a perspective of growth with him through this process, as she clearly did not nurture the relationship.

All the skanks that had kids when they were 20 out of wedlock are out partying by 45 again and trying to bring everyone else's wives with them. If their marriage has lasted to this point then it invariably fails.

The peer pressure to party never stops at any age, because we have a terrible and disgusting degenerative culture that derives worth from our social status in the local bar scene. All the kids watching MTV and seeing other kids going clubbing in the 90s are 40 now LMAO.

Women’s “loyalty” is tied to mans ability to protect (a dangerous man), provide (a successful/ambitious/creative/handy man), and assert his will over nature, people (a confident, well spoken, socially savvy man).

Most settle for 1 or 2 of those characteristics. Few have all 3.

Lose all of those and the old survival instincts will drive them to run to find someone to replace them. That’s why marriages end when the guy loses his job.

People will find a more appropriate reason (in their mind) to spin it to their friends, fam, online community in order to justify their feelings. There isn’t much if any cultural backlash anymore so it becomes easy to create an echo chamber and feel justified.

Same thing happens with men btw just for different reasons

People degrade over time. If you go into marriage expecting things to stay the same, you're an idiot.

You love someone for who they are. There is an essence, a composite pattern that doesn't change. Even if elements come and go, they'd go right back where they were if available. That's why I don't buy the whole "people change" schtict. No, you married the a55hole. You liked him because he was an a55hole, etc.

We could do with a lot more blind loyalty in this world and a lot less periodic performance reviews of our spouses.

Lol he's sick, what do you expect? Symptoms sounds like parkinsons or some kind of degenerative disease, seen this before in my own family. She's in for a LOT worse down the road. I don't expect sloots to honor marriage vows though, she's already cheating almost 100%.

lol you sound naive dude. Everyone can fall out of love. There is no one true love.
This woman may have loved her husband in the past but now that he is sick and dying there is no attraction anymore. Same way you wouldn't be sexually attracted to a sick and dying woman. Being sick is literally the antithesis of being attractive sexually. It's just the way it is.
She may love him as a husband and based on their shared past but no longer finds him a sexual option.
To be honest it's a tough spot to be in because this is the time when he needs her the most and she knows it. Leaving a sick husband of wife is generally seen by society as a total scumbag move and for good reason.
There are 3 options:
1)suffer in a sexless marriage. This may lead to her resenting him in the long run
2)Take care of him and **** other people
3)Divorce him and have everyone she knows hate her.

None of these options are great. That's life son.

That's life son?

Let me fukking tell you about life *******.

When your one of the 1/3 of americans dying in middle age because you randomly acquired:
1) cancer
2) heart disease
3) accidental injury

Then you'll understand that committing to a marriage included the understanding that life isn't fair and that you will take care of your loved ones despite what your goddamn dick wants you to do. If you can't do that then your not a man or an adult for that matter. If you didn't take the time to focus on your SO and nurture your relationship to be able to appreciate these times then that chit is on you.

There is some point in your life where sex will not be a top priority. If that's not due to love then you done fukked up, haven't you?

fukking lmao at naivety.

That's just how women r lol. They're gonna flip on you when chit gets tough 9 times out of 10. It's to be expected, once you understand once their back is up against the wall, their minds create justifications to go else where. It's happened to all of the most successful men you can think of. It's female nature and should just be accepted for what it is is. It's easy to complain about, but that's how they are. Male nature is to be unconditionally loyal through thick and thin but women aren't programmed that way and that's fine cause it forces us to get stronger and better to keep them around srs. If I was sick/dying I'd say go away and let me die lol
