Cant decide on only one. Blackwater park is awesome, but I prefer some other opeth songs. Opeth, pain of salvation and dream theater are my favorite bands.
Drapery falls is up there. Ghost of perdition, harlequin forest, leper affinity, etc
Opeth are perhaps the best band ever hehe. Been blasting this song lately. Not heavy like their old stuff tho

That's it for me. I always loved the song, but after my mom passed away it hit totally different. Can't listen without losing my feels.
I love Opeth too though. I'm one of the rare Opeth fans who likes Deliverance more than Blackwater Park.

Progressive Metal is an experimental type of metal that is comprised of almost equal parts beauty and brutality. It is metal at it's core but borrows heavily from so many other sub genre's of music that pinning a band down into a category becomes almost impossible. Tool for instance will have songs where the bassist is approaching his writing as if he's playing lead guitar, the drummer will incorporate middle eastern percussion, jazz licks and traditional metal drumming, the guitarist will play driving, yet melodic riffs all while the front man is mixing classical rock melodies and aggressive metal screams. I didn't full appreciate what Tool does until I started watching covers and realized what each member was doing. Right in Two is one of my favorite Tool songs and it hit totally different when I realized what the bassist was doing.....

Check this out, Ayreon is one of the kings of modern prog. Not a band, they have many different singers and musicans. Ayreon is top tier and brings together some of the best prog musicians. Opeth singer, dream theater singer and many more have taken part. Porcupine Tree is also one of the greats for sure.
