My 90yo grandma speaks with dead people, fuark.

Came to my folks house for the week.
Old grandma has been living with them for a while already, she barely gets up from bed anymore, but she does talk, a lot, alone (or not).
Starts convos with her dead sisters or dead sons randomly.

Scary chit.
Imagine waking up at 3am and hear your grandma having a full convo with her dead sisters about how she sees a creepy old man staring at her room door.

My great granny recently got caught speaking to her mother, who died when I was a child, turns out she had a UTI, she's thankfully back to normal.

Probably something different, but best wishes for your family brother, heart goes out to you.

Yeah some believe that as they start to transition they do that.

It's why I believe there is more than just the physical world. Not sure what is on the other side, but I believe it's there. Science/medical has so many explanations but you start putting them all together it's like the government trying to explain why a top gun fighter spent hours chancing after what was determined swamp gas.

My grandmother had a few out of body experiences before she died but didn't really talk to anyone like that.

My grandma did this too. Tbh kinda thought she may have been possessed as a kid because of how weird everything was. My nice dog would only bark at her, no other person, she was talking to something constantly. Sometimes one of my siblings would wake up and see her walk into our rooms and stand over our beds watching us sleep. It was hella creepy.

Still loved her though. Miss her. She was a good lady with a tough life. Just be nice to her OP. When you hear her talking, ask her questions to bring her into the present.

True but if it were just brain degeneration or hallucinations, they would see other things and would not be able to carry on a conversation like that, or usually even remember their relatives. Also, it's always dead relatives, not living one's. If it were just hallucinations or whatever, they would be speaking to people who are alive but aren't there, but they never do. Also this is a common thing with many dying people under different conditions. While my grandmother was in Hospice, I learned a lot about this. Like one nurse said that they are told medically what it is, but experience has taught them otherwise.

I know this is hard bro, but be glad she got to live such a long life and gets to go like this. May we all get this kind of ending, but most of us won't. Just be there and try not to make her feel uncomfortable or like she's just crazy. It's a scary time for her too. Oh, and she will probably get worse, then suddenly seem a lot better, like her old self. This is called a rally and usually happens right before they really go down hill so embrace it and make it a good one, spend time with her. My grandmother died December 23rd 2019.
