**** got attacked by wasps

I’ve got this wasp nest on my deck that I leave alone usually. Sometimes if I’m bored I’ll wave a stick at them to get a rise out of them but once I back away they don’t do anything.

Today I had some friends over and wanted to demonstrate this. I wave the stick once and immediately 3 of them fly at me and start stinging me. We all freaked out and ran inside and I had to ice my stings.

I was shocked they reacted that way when before they were docile.

So instead of spraying them with bee killer you wave sticks at them. LOL.

Lots of bees suck. Last year I was making an atv trail through the woods and a small tree was laying on the ground. I didn't know it but the stump end had a hole under it that ground bees made a nest. While I was ripping on the tree to get it to break loose the bees swarmed me and I got stung about 12 times and had about 20 more covering my clothes. Freaked me out. I was running through the woods like a weirdo.

I’m sorry that happened to you.

The thing is I didn’t want to kill them ever. It was a mostly peaceful hive. I just would wave a stick occasionally for amusement and also low key show them who the alpha in these parts are.

Stepped on a yellow jacket nest when I was about 10. Went to retrieve a baseball in the woods and got hit with about 30-40 stings.
Hurt like fuk, but probably built up my body's immunity to God tier status.

RIP, too bad they weren't bees or they would have been dead boyos.

Actually yes it was. So does hotter temps make them more aggressive? Or just more active in general so they came at me?
