Texas should legalize medical marijuana

really, their reasoning for making it 100% illegal is stupid. Especially considering they are one of the highest states with drunk driving cases, especially Houston and San Antonio (I lived in San Antonio for few years and still like it a lot).

the only people who can legally get medical marijana in Texas is literally people dying of cancer or the most extreme cases you can think of. If you want to just legalize it in the liberal area like Austin, fine, but making it illegal and punishable by law to smoke recreationally is stupid. I garuatee the drunk driving incidents would go down if people recreational smoking was not illegal.

give it another 5-10 years it will slowly be more legalized. maybe not recreationally, but medically I say less than 10 years.

this.

nothing wrong with MJ. In principle I fully support its legalization. But in practice Texas legalizing weed in the near future would bring on a giant wave of libtard voters that would instantly destroy the greatest state in the Union. not worth it. TX needs to be the last state to legalize it.

Has it gone through the FDA approval process? Instead of putting the covid vaccines through the FDA approval process, can we just put them on the ballot and let the voters approve them?

I'd never vote for legalization in any state I live. Speaking from experience from Colorado it just brought a lot of sh!tty people into the state. Maybe like 1 or 2 people out of 10 that are a stoner are a decent member of society. The other 8 or 9 can fukk off.

It shouldn't necessarily be illegal per say however.

All of that propaganda over the years has made people think that cannabis is dangerous or for losers, but in actuality, it's akin to recreationally drinking alcohol, only much less harmful. It'll be legalized countrywide in the next 5-10 years.

Half the boomers I know smoke pot. The problem is a lot of people do think it has no side effects and is harmless. The propaganda is being pushed to increase its use among younger people, not suppress it.

It can absolutely be seemed a form of natural medicine. I have Crohn's Disease and use cannabis for the pain and discomfort I experience. It's infinitely better using cannabis than pain killers that ravage your body.

I believe it is def medicine for diff things. It helps a lot with anxiety, but I know what you’re saying. I think it’s idiotic not to have it legal for recreational use personally. If it were just legal across the board in all states then the chitty type people could stay wherever they are instead of moving.

EVERY state should legalize medical marijuana. TBH, I think it should be legalized recreationally too. As with alcohol, prohibition doesn't work.

Already said, but if it is legal on a widespread basis there won't be a reason to move for it. Also CO was the very first state to go legal and y'all got a gold rush.

Right. Pro legalization here. Taxes are nice. Reducing access to minors (assuming legal business make the illegal business dry up).

AFAIK the one group that really seems to suffer any negative effect are regular heavy users under 25 and it has to do with brain development.

Here is your reminder that the federal government is okay with the significant societal issues as a result of alcohol consumption so we can talk about physical abuse and family/society degradation all day, but because you mentioned the forbidden herb, we will all be banned.

It's decriminalized for 40% of Texas. But those weed vape pens are a felony. Strange.

"Medical."

LOL. Just be honest, and vote to legalize the chit. Jesus christ this "medical" chit is cringeworthy. Ever since it became fully legal here in CA, nobody is talking about its medical uses lol.

I'm cool with people growing their chit and smoking it, but I hope Texas doesn't legalize and you degenerate retard cowards have to live in fear. Fuk this druggie/alcoholic/degenerate culture and their bullchit.

So naive. There's a ginormous market opened up to black market growers to get into all sorts of chit (vape pens, edibles, etc.), sell in legal states and make massive profit. It's not just grass anymore, it's high end and specialty crap. I take it you've not been around any young people or schools lately? The demand side has increased enormously, and unfortunately the panacea of legal marijuana=safer+fewer kids on drugs isn't panning out. For that to happen, the model would have to be akin to the alcohol or cigarette market where massive players get their foothold and regulations are very strict. It's the wild west right now. Just look at the lung issues right now with "e-cigs." One article I read stated nearly all the users affected also smoked THC vape pens-didn't get a lot of press for some reason tho....) Most of the information I've gathered isn't in the papers, just conversations with people I know that are in the know, but using logic one can see that legalization isn't the cure-all. It's massive regulation, and squeezing out all the small players. The conditions right now are fertile ground for tons of small players to pour in. If you doubt that, just look at the payoff. Lots of small players means lots of risk and easy risky products to get into the market and for companies to disappear and re-emerge kinda like Driven Sports with their drug laced chit.
Virtue is its own reward.

This. It has always been and will always be ridiculous. Human arrogance and misinformation. Canada legalized weed a while back. Are we seeing junkies all over the streets and youths all dying because of this 'gateway drug?' Fuking lol @ any sheep that believes in that propaganda. I bought weed once the day it was legalized for posterity. I still have some left. Smoking has never really been my thing.

People who want to use drugs will find a way to do so regardless if it's 'legal' or not. I work in Ottawa occasionally. For those of you who have been, one of the major missions is on one of the large main streets. You have people jonesing out on the sidewalks in front of the mission, passed out on the floor, high as fuk on crack, doing lines off their hands at red lights collecting money. Why are they using? Those are the most 'banned' drugs.

There's this culture of naivety and conservatism across the USA. Terrified plebs that willingly pull the wool over their own eyes and refuse to see the reality of the world, instead choosing to live within their own delusional conservative, 'just say no' and 'abstinence only' bubbles. How has that been working out for you, champ?

Even that's not really true. The Texas Compassionate Use Act only includes low-THC products (less than 0.5% THC with a doctor's approval) which isn't really helpful.

I think it's more that the successful daily / rec users don't go on and on about their consumption. I don't advocate for us to become chatty cathy's about it either, but that's probably why you think that.
