How many times can you bench press 2 plates/225lbs with good form? (poll)
How many times can you bench press 2 plates (225lbs) with good form?
Was just watching some NFL combine beasts repping 225lbs like if its their warm up. The record is 51. The lowest is about 4. Average is probably 20-30 or 30-40 depending on the NFL player's position. Keep in mind these guys have extremely good genetics, train their whole lives, and they NEED to be huge for their sport as they get paid millions.
So if you can't bench anywhere near these guys, thats completely fine

Just did 225x8 today. Not in a strength training phase atm, hoping to move more towards power building this winter.
Goal is 315 1RM at some point.

back in 2015-2017, around 16-20 depending on where I was in a training cycle

Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

This winter I'll have a proper power cage setup and a real garage gym, I'm going to start focusing on heavier weights then.
Edit: Was 265 not 270, my bad.

Plus, my dad was big into weightlifting as well, and according to him his lifetime PR was 315x2. He was 5'10 and probably around 220lb though when he did that too, so I'll feel pretty happy/proud with myself if I can do something similar with significantly less body mass.

in my "prime" which was never that impressive, I think I could do 2, but even then I doubt it was good form.
I'm currently a zero. But down a good amount of weight so ok with that as I get older.
I can do 75+ chinups in a 20 min work out session, so i'll give myself a bonus point for dat chit

I do miss the gym since i cancelled back in April, but body weight exercised are powerful. pushups x 200 and squats x 200 get some solid results.

At my best I could do 3-4 reps at 225. That was a period in my life where I was so strict about traning and diet. I started from very skinny, keep in mind, I didn't have any bloat strength. Now after years of depression and very sporadic weight training I doubt I could put up 175 even once.
I don't rep back

Take it baby steps at a time. I started by going to the gym with a friend once every 2 days. I was so demotivated I was just going through the motions and trying to get it over and done with. Eventually after a few weeks, my mood lifted, the depressive episodes weakened, I got stronger and leaner, people started to give compliments and I built positive momentum.
I wish you the best, depression is fkn awful

I think powerlifting has changed so much in the past 5-10 years that I couldnt realistically ever be competitive. What used to be a really good total wouldnt place me other than last in a US or EU even.
I mean jesus, there are 18 year olds with 2000lbs total raw in the 105kg weight class. Guys in the 74kg weight class squatting regularly squat 240+kg, benching 170kg, deading 240kg at minimum. If I just focused on gaining towards my "height class" which is the 83kg division then id need to squat at least 260, bench 160 and dead 260kgs to evn be remotely competitive.
And I am turning 33 so recovery isnt what it used to be.
