Are all these morons selling weights for crazy prices srs?

Like everyone else, looking to bolster up my home gym.

Looking for barbell plates is downright comical.

People selling a pair of 45lb plates for $400.00...what complete idiot would even buy that for that price?

If you are selling/food and water during a nuclear holocaust.... who is going to get price gouged on weights?

Absolutely. I put myself on the wait list with rogue just like I did with my Ohio power bar. For comparison, a pair of 45s is $105.

People post wild prices everywhere. But home gym stuff is going to be up- 1. the virus, 2. winter is coming and 3. everyone is getting fat.

There's been a shift to @home stuff and expect that to continue. Also in the long run people are thinking cost savings with buying home equip (no recurring expense). In this era of inflation (in some areas) early buyers are rewarded. That drives prices up even more as sellers see a flurry of buying and jack up prices

It’s so stupid. It’s why I didn’t buy 45’s yet. Not spending 2$ + a lb

My gym just opened. When prices drop I will pick some up in case but not a chance now

Tfw you have rogue competition bumper plates and bought new for over $3lb. Sold my old fitness gear plates for $1.75 to recoup some cost though. The guy turned around and listed em for 2.5lb and sold them lol

Price gauging to the core. Outright laughable. Thankfully I built my home gym 20 years ago when it was .69 cents/pound and don’t need to reward any of these price gauging clowns.

Did factories just stop making weights all of the sudden? Wtf
-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

The price of raw steel today (which is a commodity), would make that impossible. Cheapest I've found is $1.17a pound but out of stock.

Gyms here are open again, but people are still asking crazy prices for gym equipment. There’s no way they’re getting what they’re asking. The funniest are $900 for a pair of bow flex dumbbells. Those things are garbage.

JFL at cucks in this thread who don’t know how to get weights. Barbell plus weights are the easiest buy. Rogue restocks daily in the morning. Other companies are weekly to biweekly.

What were prices before all this nonsense on new decent plates? I've had a home gym for a long time and I'm starting to outgrow the weight I have, I'd like to pick up 4 more 45lb plates but I'm not paying $500.

depends on order quantity, small orders are a bit more expensive. I can buy steel plate at a local metal supply that sells small quantities, can get A26 1" 12"x12" plate for ~$80 which is about 40lb. Aslong as you don't mind square plates lol, all that's left to do is drill a 1in hole in the middle, easy enough with a simple drill press and a good bit.
