Car bro’s get in here.

Planning on buying a new 2020 or 2021 camry xse which is cheap and reliable. Deciding between 4 cylinder and v6. I want the four cylinder because the gas, but I don’t think the 4 cylinder is enough to power that heavy of a car. V6 is 5k more expensive, which isn’t too much of an issue for me but the gas milage for the v6 is 22/31 vs 27/38. What do brahs?

Does the V6 come with better interior, etc? I recently bought a truck and paid about 4K I extra for leather , sunroof , etc. I think that it’s worth it if it’s the entire package.

Interior is the exact same only difference is the engine.

v6 in the Camry is no joke. Bulletproof proven engine. the 4 banger is good and carries enough power to move (SRS). Depend all on you OP.

Lol is camry a bad car or something? Was considering a g70 until I was asked for insurance quotes and cheapest I got was $250 a month.

Only thing that stopped me from getting the g70 was the price of insurance being $250 a month. Also didn't like that the back seat had no leg room and the infotainment center looked looked out of place. It’s like they just slapped it on top of the dash and called it a day.

yeah that 2gr is a great motor, i lean to the v6 for how big those camrys have gotten but i don't have first hand experience and 4cyl tech has come a long way

that trd camry is actually pretty sweet looking, the spoiler is dumb as hell but i like the styling

The 4cyl is plenty powerful for the car.

The V-6 is if you want to line up with a small-dink-owned Mustang/Challenger/Camaro and give them a run for their money.

Mass state laws allows u to only tint 35% but I would also love a 100% tint. Maybe I might when I have some influence in the DMV's office.

Oh, the 4cyl is plenty for passing/merging! (srs)

Especially if you actually use the full 100% throttle. (Most people "floor it" to 60% throttle and of course it won't pick up great)

Give it the full beans (pedal to the metal) and it will definitely scoot!

Toyota Camry is one of the most longest lasting vehicles. 90s 2000s camrys are still running around today.

Hard to say how long a 2020 will last, but given the track record, it should significantly outlast competitor cars.

Parts are cheap and readily available too.

You're not going to be winning any races in a Camry anyway. Get the 4cyl.

Unless you're planning on modding it, then idk which engine is the better platform.

If you drive a bunch I'd get the weak one.

I drive a 4 banger with 205hp. It can get out of its own way but kinda depressing trucks are faster.

I drive a fair amount so mpg was a concern.

That’s good to hear. I have a 2012 lancer es that I got brand new in 2012. I’ve taken care of it got all the maintenance done on it and everything. Transmission died on me at 50,000 miles, I was in another state on vacation so I had to pay $900 for overnight shipping so they can fix my transmission. 10,000 miles later my shocks started to fail so I replaced those. At 78,000 miles my cv joints are leaking grease. I’m now at 80,000 miles and my shocks have gone bad again and Mitsubishi wants me to pay to fix it again.

Tired of dumping money into this car just for it to mess up, it should not have this many issues at 80,000 miles. That’s why I want something reliable.

My 2006 has only needed oil changes, new tires, new wipers, new front brake pads, one passenger CV axle, one motor mount, and one front wheel bearing.

Everything else works perfectly and just passing the 180,000 mile mark.

Going to change the trans fluid soon just for peace of mind. (probably original factory fluid lol)

Hard to compare the older ones longevity to the new ones because they haven't been around long enough. But I know someone with 309k miles on the original motor of a 98 camry. I sold an 03 camry with almost 200k that still ran great miles and got an alert from carfax showing the new owner has 275k miles on it. Both 4 cylinders

everyone told me to avoid hondas and toyotas because of CVT transmission. it has a very short lifespan and doesnt have feeling of a real gear shift.

currently, Mazda 6 with turbocharger is pretty zippy and has real 6 speed auto transmission...very driver's car with a connected feel...they just launched a new 2021 model with more torque, i would look into that also.

Look into Kia Stinger or optima also..heard good things about them.

Get a 2017+ Lexus IS F Sport instead. 200t. You will never beat Lexus/Toyota Quality/Reliability/Durability/Cost of Ownership. Don't be afraid of a slightly used Lexus. Get it serviced at Toyota.
