Any thoughts?

I'm thinking of starting with upper body high reps to build my stamina. I have a full gym at home, bike, treadmill, bench, rack, all in one thing as well, but I think they might be bad for my ankle.
I feel for you, I'm going through the same thing myself. Haven't really gained fat since I kept my diet in check all throughout this, but I've definitely lost strength and size since my gym has been shut since March.

I'm planning to do what is known as a "deloading" routine. This is where you workout at around 40% of your regular capacity, where you either lower the weight or reduce the volume. It's usually a technique one employs if they lose motivation or find their workouts to be just "going through the motions", but it looks like you can use it to ease yourself back into working out as well.

IMO the psychological barrier will be the worst. Just get in for one gym session, then two, and it will roll out from there and you'll be back into your regular routine in no time.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

Meh. Some are doing better than others. My father began showering regularly again after my third time talking to him about it. I dont think he has dementia or anything - hes just very spectrum-y and old. A good friend of mine might be headed for a catastrophic divorce. I guess apart from those two issues, everything has been as okay as it can be.

And my second nephew is growing like a weed.

The TV is a big deal to me. I don't watch much. But...1) the hour after i get home from work is sacred. Even my dog doesn't ask much from me. I just plop down on the couch and watch a show on Netflix/Amazon/StarzPlay for about 30-40 mins, and do some reading for another 30 mins. 2) Love me some video games. I have a proper gaming setup (monitor, gaming chair, gaming table etc..) in the game room, but for most games that don't need a gaming monitor and setup, an 82 inch 4K TV for gaming is absolutely glorious. I usually try to get in an hour of gaming every few days or so. Does wonders for your mental wellbeing if you can find the right game for you. It's like yoga, for non nerds.

^^^ kinda jealous in a way

1. My first hour - walk in to get debrief from wife about whatever- then homework helper/tutor.

I got kids and wife gaming set ups though.

Each has their own office and gaming rig, tv’s etc.

Occasionally I’ll play some, i did when they were younger more.

When they ask me why I’m not a gamer also.- “someone in the house has to make money”

Good thing about doing side things like posting here - I can actually write a post while at work. I’ve even done it while in a meeting.

In fact, I made a counterargument here before while I was the one actually holding the meeting

Now if kids aren’t around, non school day, etc - it’s gonna be a hard day day for wife when I get home....

Your step 1 routine sounds more like my hotel routine when I’m on the road.

Only had visitors to the house 3 times since March. Our surrogate to provide milk, my sister once and an organic pest control company. We canceled our housekeeper and my wife left her job so we do not have to get a nanny.

Fun fact: People in my neighborhood are still paying their housekeeping services even though they don't let them in to clean their house.
Another option is an airdyne bike. The old school ones you can find on Craigslist for 150-175...or maybe less.

The new ones are not cheap, but they are a whole lot more quiet. Rogue has something like it as well, called assault bike I think.

Anyway, you can operate these with your legs or just your arms...do long steady state or intervals.

Based on this it sounds like some test might fix it.

Trying my best not to look at main board and get caught up in something for a bit, busy AF.

Really tempted and want to during the election time peak.

Hurricanes are being distracting, and fatiguing.

This next one is gonna be that ugly kind that leads to more water system failures, pressure losses, boiled water advisories, etc. Not the dramatic headline news worthy wind damage kind that aren't actually a big deal mostly.

Not good timing for these considering everything.

I'd rather work the heavy wind damage ones, or winter storms. These kind suck. Hot and sweaty all day, now shower, makeshift hand wash set ups, etc.

meh.....

Should be flying down there early am, I hope its a dud.

So i was teaching my kid to drive yesterday on the freeway and a group of 5 bikers was merging. I told him they were nuts to be wearing no protection at all, not even helmets. They speed ahead and one of them loses control and goes flying off his bike. When we pass theres a crowd of people and he's not moving....just checked the news and he was killed.

Motorcycles + young men = death traps

You add in the type of people who think it's cool to not wear protective gear, it gets ridiculous. I see these clowns riding around in shorts sometimes, I'm sure it's fun but the bike only has to tip over and you're getting your leg flensed down to the bone along 50 metres of tarmac. Imagine having a kilo of meat ground away on a hot road, I'm no doctor but I think it would smart.

When i lived in CA i had a friend that was a motorcycle enthusiast. He wore head to toe protective leather and then changed when he got to the office. Even with that he got injured so bad by a driver that clipped him that he gave it up entirely.

Here in FL the younger guys on sport bikes usually wear helmets but thats it. The older middle aged harley guys....just like what you described. The group Im talking about were ALL wearing shorts, no helmets. I would place their age in the 40's at a mimimum.

Knew a guy whose son bought a Ducati when he was 22. Dad gave him the riot act, and the dealer gave him a little lecture before taking off. Dude was dead within 30 minutes of rolling off the lot. Fukked up.

We have the boomer Harley patrol here too, fat old bearded dudes living out their sons of anarchy fantasy with no gear and no helmets (and doing 65 in the passing lane at all times)

Having come off a bike as a dumb kid and getting my leg nicely road rashed I can't fathom how anyone whos not a teenager could be retarded enough to ride without gear, much less a helmet

I see it all the time here.

One of my teachers in high school told us a story about ending his football career by wiping out in a bike and sliding under a chain fence which caught on his knee and essentially tore it out....hearing that was it for me

Used to see that chit all the time in SoCal. Doctors, Lawyers, etc, riding up on their 30K Harley into the coffee shop. You knew that that was the extent of their riding. Maybe if they were really adventurous, they would ride a few more miles for the Rock Store off Mullholland. LMFAO. At least it kept HD in business for a little while longer

My grandpa gave me his Harley years ago before he died. Since then they’ve got the no helmet laws which I would never ride without one.

I let my ex gf take it to work when her car broke down. During the winter in Indiana and she froze her lil ass off every morning it was funny as chit!

It’s sitting in my brothers garage now needs repair work. We talk about doing that someday. We got the manual and everything just got to get to it!

Personally my fantasy involves riding an elephant in Vietnam. That always looked like an experience.

November gonna be stacked !!!!!!!!!!!!

Every American on misc I hope votes. And picks up the new Demon’s Souls and enjoys thanksgiving. Oyster stuffing, Brussels sprouts with bacon and cranberry sauce.. the sauce or the simple kind... the canned gel which that I like too. A lot of miscers enjoy cornbread stuffing and I kind of don’t tbh I like the regular stuffing with the oysters and sausage baby. Best November ever!!!!

I can tell you that it's considerably less adrenaline-filled than riding a motorcycle of any kind. It is however a much better method of trekking through tropical jungle in 100% humidity than walking yourself.

If you've ever been horse riding, on one of those old placid horses they give to tourists so they don't get injured, it's a bit like that...main difference is that you are higher up in a little chair thingy and the elephant's gait is longer and slower than a horse's so you sway back and forth.

Also elephants smell weird.

Deep: "On second thought, I don't play golf with broads. You're such a scumbag that I'd be much more inclined to just slap the chit out of you."

I gear up everytime i hop on the bike. Jacket, padded jeans or riding pants, riding boots, proper gloves, and a full face helmet.
