Anyone done a Scandinavian solo driving trip?

thinking of picking up a camper van n going solo with maybe just my dog and just drive through the Swedish/Finnish countryside for miles upon miles

No but I plan on doing the same thing. Half Swedish and my great grandparents are from vastmanland and varmland in Sweden which is more countryside central sweden. I want to go there or more up north and do a solo trip for 2 weeks.

What part do you want to go to? I know there is also a trail near the mountains that a lot of people do that looks pretty sweet.

Nice. I say do it. Have watched some people vlog solo trips in sweden. I'm going to do it. Looks beautiful

One of my bucket list items is to winter in Tromso and spend an endless night cross-country skiing.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

i was stationed in iceland and those 22 hours of winter darkness is weird. you go to the bar and its pitch black; you leave the bar at 6am and its still dark. i pretty much did nothing in the winter except drink and sleep

drunk sledding down snowy hills with an air mattress with a viking hat under the aurora borealis was kick ass though

Oh to be in Sweden again, in a cosy place in mid February, having some semlor and mulled wine. Yes please.

Definitely suggest going. However be mindful of how cold it will be and try as many local things as possible. Such as Finnish sauna with jumping into the snow after of if there is water nearby then little run to the icy lake/river/sea and back to the sauna.

It's only technically night: because the sun doesn't really rise much in the deep winter, you get "the blue hour" in the afternoon, as opposed to midnight sun in the summer. Just something I'd really like to immerse myself in for a few weeks some year as a working vacation.
