The sopranos vs breaking bad

Which do you like better? I’m on the 4th season of sopranos and I think it’s better than BB

I go back and forth depending on what I’m rewatching.

I throw the wire in the mix as well to round out my rotating top 3.

They’re all top notch television.

You gotta choose one man

The wire IMO wasn’t as good as the other two

BB probably as a show to watch straight through. But Sopranos has many more funny scenes that I've rewatched countless times at this point. Sopranos just has some episodes that are really hard to sit through after the initial viewing without fast forwarding.

BB kept my interest from episode 1 until the very end. I've attempted The Sopranos and The Wire several times and gave up after a few episodes.

The soprano you have to get through pretty much the entire first season before it gets good. Tons of characters and plots.

Top 1 and 2 shows of all time. It's hard to choose just one but I might have to go with sopranos just out of pure nostalgia because I watched it first wayyy back in the day

kind of agree with this. the first half of season one isnt the easiest to watch. it's crazy bc as soon as season 2 starts, its already GOAT status.

The Sopranos is easily in my top 3. Perhaps the best ever. Breaking Bad isn't on that level.

It's also one of those series that gets a little bit worse every season until you're just watching at the end because you've watched everything before.

Sopranos for me. Much more “real” and “dark”. Breaking bad was amazing but had too many “fun” moments.

I'm going to rewatch BB from episode 1. Sopranos was very good but once was enough. I started season 1 again and the magic was gone. I guess I might discover the same thing about BB but I doubt it. Looking forward to the journey again

Sopranos
Band of Brothers
The Wire
Breaking Bad

Its not only no where near Sopranos, its not even in the top 3 if we are going to be honest with ourselves

Both shows had many deaths. Sopranos prob a lot more. But it’s kind of hypocritical to compare the deaths

The Sopranos is better written, deeper and more complex than Breaking Bad. As a work of art, it is far superior. James Gandolfini's acting is absolutely incredible, as are all of the supporting cast. The nuances of each person really allows the audience to connect with a world that is very foreign to most (organized crime). There are so many memorable one liners too. It's a hilarious show. After I binge watched The Sopranos a few years ago I was saying cawksucker every other sentence lol.

However Breaking Bad is a more enthralling. Each season gets better and better (unlike The Sopranos, which has ebbs and flows, some seasons are significantly worse than others) and the constant cliffhangers leave you hungry for more. Ozymandias is probably the best episode of television ever made.

Hard to choose a winner because they're both fuking incredible.

I'll say this, Better Call Saul is the Sopranos of the Breaking Bad world.

Great insight. So are you saying better call Saul is better than Breaking Bad? I would disagree. Better call Saul is not close to Breaking Bad
