What does posting here have to do with being unhappy in marriage?

You do know most miscers are conservatives, conservative family values and statistically, significantly happier people than liberals and much less likely to get divorced?

So in a way, misc should have married brahs here.

No, this has nothing to do with political affiliation. I think they're just bored at times. It's like an amusement park with some many rides and sweet confections.

Its a male locker room. We can come here and talk chit and say stuff you usually cant get away with. Your life doesnt have to revolve around your marriage every second of your life.

You're right about the locker room bit.

But I'll tell you one thing- I say and write a lot more "risque" stuff IRL and NOT on here!! It's so much easier for me to be freer in expressing myself IRL.

I don't agree with "you can say stuff you usually can't get away with," unless you're referring to abusing freedom of speech, which too many GROWN people do on all forums (getting away with mean-spirited insults/cyberbullying; pics of underage kids). If you wouldn't say something to someone's face, then you shouldn't post it to them.

There's always a way to be tactful. You don't know who you're dealing with and you don't know anything about what's going on in their lives or their families' lives (chronic medical issues/illnesses, as one example).

I meant more like stuff you would talk about with your guy friends that you wouldn't want to talk about around your wife. The same way women get together with their friends and talk about stuff they wouldn't say in front of their husband.
We all do it, if you are cool enough with your spouse that you can say anything and everything without offending them then more power to ya.

Divorce rates don't lie. The divorce rate is about 50%. Of the remaining half of marriages that last, you can be sure that at least half of them probably end up fairly unhappy with the couples staying together for convenience. So, even with an optimistic outlook, the vast majority of marriages end up with misersble people, if not ending outright.

That's not to obsess over red pill bs. Marriage can be great. But I do get a kick out of the miscers who rail on about how great their marriages are and how they think anyone who is hesitant about it are just some FA losers. I've known so many guys over the years who wind up in marriages where they're lucky to get laid a couple times a month. Known unhappy women who stay married to assshole dudes because they didn't wise up to their bs before having multiple kids with them, and they know their options are going to be pretty limited as single mothers with multiple kids.

Those are just some examples. If you're married and happy, then good for you. I really don't see any point in it though unless you plan on having kids with someone, for the most part. Anyway you look at it, to remain in a committed marriage that actually goes the distance, it requires a lot of effort on the sides of both parties. Anyone who tells you otherwise is delusional. Also, anyone who is in a marriage or even just basic long-term relationship and claims to be happy with having sex any less than least a weekly basis for years is lying to you.

You're absolutely right re: your precision on my post. You can see it clearly ITT - people quoting "divorce rates don't lie", yet fail to read the analysis presented in this very thread (as a start) which shows how absurd that position is.

Most often it is put forward by incel/fa types, or divorced types who believe somehow that their singular experience is indicative of all of ours. All they have to do to understand the mistake there, is internalize that "we are not equal".

On the second part of your post: I really think you could benefit from speaking with a professional. And not one who just prescribes "meds". PM me if you need help.

Lol at copers ITT thinking anyone against marriage is incel/FA.

I can guarantee I've been with more women (triple digit) than 99% of married people ITT.

In fact, I've seen more than a handful of girls that I tagteamed with my buddies get into a happy relationship/marriage with their nice little husband who thinks she's such a precious, special one.

In my experience, 90% of men who are married only did so because they lack the ability to attract hot chicks on a consistent basis with ease.

They get tired of the "game" because its too hard & takes too much effort for them due to their lack of ability, and they eventually settle.

Some are honest and they will tell you the truth (don't get married)

Some cope hard and try to rationalize it's good to get married because they can't handle the fact they made a stupid decision, and they are bitter/jealous toward single brahs who are enjoying their lives.

Why do you believe that your singular experience is superior as ancedotal evidence than anyone else's experiences?

I know you were refering to me about the divorce stats bit. What's wrong with citing statistical evidence, or talking about the fact that the divorce courts generally highly favor women? Those are facts that mean a lot more than either of our "singular experiences".

I'll tell you something, bud. There was a time when I was very pro-marriage. Felt that way for most of mine before it ended. Getting blindsided in the manner I did, and the fact that I don't think there's anything I could have done to save the marriage (maybe prolong it, but I doubt I could have outright saved it). My divorce wasn't even that bad from legal perspective. However, most guys have it a lot worse than I did in that sense. I still had to deal with my family unit being torn apart, and what goes along with that as the years go by.

All of my experiences, along with the hard evidence I've mentioned, have caused me to reassess my position on the subject. I'm now more neutral on marriage. I've stated several times on this forum that I think it can be a great thing. I can't even say with certainty that I'd never consider remarrying. It would just take a lot more for me to do it again. You should really reconsider your habit of lumping people with moderate/neutral positions in with people with extremely different views than yourself.

1. Your first mistake is believing that my post was about you; all I stated was a line I have seen on the Misc from countless posters, including samsbolton. He calls it "playing the odds" (I'll get to this later); so
2. You should reassess (ironically)yourhabit - of making posts about you when they aren't.

Furthermore, you should read threads before you post in them: I deal with the idiotic "odds" position earlier in the thread:

On the 80% - there are plenty of male losers out there too. Look at all the neckbeards tossing away significant portions of their income (or inheritance) to a 5'2 womanlet online who just shakes her cheeks while he jerks in a tissue?

The truth is, the "marriage statistic" is fraudulent, because - wait for it - weare not equal. The lie of liberal democracy when "PC" agendas are pushed is to act like we are all equal. We are not. Some are more attractive; some are smarter; some are harder working, and (Amartya Sen) equality of opportunity is the most we can ever even hope to achieve.

And this is why the "marriage statistic" is fraudulent - because people aren't equal; so you can't compare my marriage to my wife to some random doorknob who gets married because he "knocked her up".

You know this as well as I do, Ernie, but if you truly relate to any of those 80% plebs well...I can't say I believe you.

In other words "poors gonna poor", and if something like 50% of Americans can't even save USD 1000, why would I ever believe they are able to choose good life partners for themselves?
If you read the above you'll realize that I never referred to my personal experience as being indicative; it is you, and posters like you, who continually believe you have the ultimate grasp on relationships: ironically, because of your failed relationships.

You're talking about extreme outliers. The discussion is focused on people in general. How many people are legitimately asexual? 1-2% absolute tops? I didn't look into too far, but it appears to be quite rare in general, and even less so for guys.

If two genuinelly asexual people get into a relationship, I'm sure they can be happy with it, as their sexual desires would not be mismatched. If neither of them wants it, or neither can have sex in the first place, then there isn't much room for discontent to arise from the matter.

Think of how many guys out there wife up some woman who ends up having way less sex with then married than when they were dating. It's not an uncommon concept. I get that people get busy and all that bs, but when your wife can't even make time to have some sort of sexual activity with you once or twice a week most of the time, you're gonna end up with issues. I find it bizzare how many guys will go to great lengths to cope about their wives drastically reducing the sex to bs like once a month, sometimes even way less.

So again, aside from a small minority of outlier couples - if they're not having sex on a decently regular basis, then they wind up becoming roommates with them. I'm not sure how you could even argue against that unless you're a dude in a sexless marriage who is trying to cope with his wife barely ever being willing to have sex with him.

Show me where I claimed to have "the ultimate grasp on relationships". All I did was explain that you're mistaken if you think your hardliner opinion makes you the expert on the subject.

Also, I've noticed you like to go into attack mode when it comes to the whole marriage topic. Whether it be this thread or any other I've seen you discuss it, you are quick to get defensive and hurl out insults against anyone who even remotely disagrees with you. All I've done is not completely and utterly agree with you about everything. Yet you still respond by attempting to insults and hyper focusing on my failed relationships. It makes you sound insecure and full of cope when you decide to be an assshole just because someone doesn't figuratively slob your knob for your opinions.

"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

marriage is greats for tradies, guys with no money, postal workers and guys with no options (srs)

there is zero risk for the above..

where as it is very risky for business owners and guys that are successful.

the idea is great. but sloots can leave whenever you like and a guy with cash is fked.

having children with a solid sloot is far more important than getting married (srs)

Nearly the entirety of this post is a personal attack with presumptions, and you address absolutely 0 in terms of the content of the post you quote.

That makes you come across as being incredibly defensive, and does nothing to further the discussion. The facts of the matter were already detailed in previous posts ITT - one I helpfully quoted for you in my previous post because it seems you (like many others) didn't read the thread before posting. And the fact is that the "playing the odds" mantra is simply silly, because people aren't equal.

If that's a "hardliner opinion" I'd love to see your justification of that, if you can stop hurling defensive insults and actually focus on the topic at hand.

What you describe is a problem if it happens in a LTR, no doubt. So you figure it out. Or you don't and either be miserable or end the relationship.

where as it is very risky for business owners and guys that are successful.

the idea is great. but sloots can leave whenever you like and a guy with cash is fked.

having children with a solid sloot is far more important than getting married (srs)
Lol good luck finding "solid sloots" who will have kids with you and not get married. If you want a family it's almost necessary to get married.

The only reason to get married is to have a family.

Your only posts quoting me ITT are personal attacks. They contain nothing addressing the points I have repeatedly made.

Interesting how all of my posts have been quoted and engaged with by other posters yet you are the only one claiming I'm impossible to talk to.

I think marriage can be a good idea IF you marry the right person, problem is a lot of people don't so that's why it falls apart. Also people who just get married because "it's what everyone does" is usually a recipe for disaster because it's a lot of work and if you don't have conviction you won't last. Some people just have no reason to get married, like if you don't want kids and would rather just do your own thing which is ok because not everyone's idea of "making it" is the same. That said I think if you're uber rich like Bezo's level then it can definitely be risky as you see a lot of mega millionaires and billionaires with failed marriages because there's so many women that want your dick and it's hard to be with someone for so long with you have hordes of young hotties lusting after you and eventually you will give in because you're only human.
