How are your brah's gyms dealing with COVID?

I'm a member for a commercial gym but not really liking the path they're going even though they're taking very strong measures against COVID (Appointments only/temperature checked/limited # of people/etc) Found another gym nearby that's a more powerlifting/powerman's gym with the same price and less people. Issue is when I walked in a lot of people weren't even wear masks. I asked the guy infront what they're doing in terms of COVID and he says it's everyone's responsibility to clean up/sanitize their equipment. It looks like a small warehouse and one side is completely exposed to the outside to let some ventilation. Really unsure. What are your guy's gym doing?

We have a line up if maximum amount of people are in the gym, wipe ur chit down and wear a mask when moving around the gym but u can have it off when you are in your workout area. nobody listens and people just walk around without masks (not everybody) and people talk to eachother and chit and weve had no cases related to my gym

I've only been going on Sunday afternoons when it's pretty empty, but we don't have to wear masks and there are wipe dispensers all around. Not sure if they make you wear a mask when it's more crowded.

masks required, most ppl follow it, some pull it under their nose or just all the way off after they enter and gym staff doesn’t aggressively enforce
supposed to wipe equipment before and after, some ppl do some don’t
hand sanitizer everywhere
in locker room only can use like every 6th locker, others sealed shut

I got a planet fitness cause my gym is only open to military right now. But they basically just say to put your mask on and clean your shift after you're done using it

You a pussy m8? Why would you want restrictions?

My gym the first 2 weeks had no restrictions. It was recommended to wear a mask, they came around and sanitized everything frequently, and they just said to clean our equipment when done. I think that should be every gyms extent of this. I was extremely happy with it. They would also talk about social distancing every 15 min. over the loud speaker. This is a higher end gym connected to a medical center.

2 weeks in an old bitter lady bitched about masks. Then the gym started to take temp checks and force mask wearing, and you had to wear it in between sets/walking around but not when you do an exercise. FKN LOL I'm not paying $62 dollars to be treated like cattle to lift in a gym that had maybe 7 people total each day I was there. A giant medical center gym with more trainers than members there daily at 6pm-close.

I just workout in my garage right now. The one near me with almost no restrictions is filled with highschoolers on steroids with the same equipment I used to use 9 years prior. Absolute chit show of a gym.

I usually goto L.A. Fitness, sometimes planet fitness if im in a rush or a few other local gyms (I have 9 gym memberships). At L.A. Youre suppose to wear your mask the whole time but no one really cares if you take it off once you start lifting, so thats cool. I try to wear it the whole time becuase it doesnt bother me at all (I have to wear it 70 hours a week at work anyway so I dont even notice it). The only time I take it off is squats ad deadlifts, I notice it messes with my oxygen a bit

I'm in NJ but lifted briefly in Penn. Since they opened a lot sooner then us. It was nice to be able to remove the mask when you were actually lifting and putting it back on when you were done.

My gym in NJ has a temp check when you walk in and you need to have the mask the entire time. It's not ideal but I'm just happy to be back so I play the game. You do need to wipe everything after you use it. I haven't seen anyone not following the rules so I do as well, Id be annoyed if I wasn't and someone called me out.

I think the mask stuff is going to be the new norm for a long while. The second it become optional Ibwont be wearing it.

Do or do not, their is no try! (I made this up myself)

people at my gym only wear it when entering and then take it off when working out and pretty much keep it off.
