Sunday Night Deadlifts with DrewDarden (video)
Deadlift
Warmups then
295x5
340x5
385x8
340x5
295x5
Several months back, I was plagued with some minor strains and pulls in different parts of my body, but with regards to deadlift, it was my hamstrings. So I’ve got some catching up to do, but tonight was the first pretty good night I’ve had deadlifting in a while.

hey op looks solid.
My only thing against what you are doing is this: you are deadlifting in your own home, all that deadlift impact risks shifting/resettling your foundation. I would consider controlling your negatives so you do not risk damaging the structural integrity of your home.

But even with that said, you just described the reason I use rubber bumper plates and have rubber mats on the floor.

Some dude was deadlifting 2 plates for reps, put the whole gym at risk.
Good work OP, keep it up and have fun. Looking forward to my garage gym next month so I can join the party.

I ordered monolift hooks from Rogue on September 4, and they haven’t even processed my request yet.

Machined plates (still waiting for my 45s to ship)
Hi temp bumper 45s
Monster lite rack (ordered mid aug but shipped just now)
Was looking at the new scout reverse hyper but seems like itll be a bit unstable with a bloatbrah like me on it. Seen a review amd the front legs were lifting up about an inch at the top of each rep.
You got any reverse hyper machine/ would you recommend getting one?

But honestly get a lot out of a back raise, so I stick with that. And it takes up a lot less space. And since space is such a big issue, I kind of had a choice between a belt squat or a reverse hyper. I went with the belt squat because I could do so much more with it.

^To be fair if someone was using iron plates on a concrete floor, that probably could do some damage to the floor.
But the rubber horse stall mats like I use have a long history (at least decades) of being used in gyms and home gyms to protect floors.

Good work man. F all the haters rippin' on weight used.
Makes me want to get back to the gym and start up deadlifts again. Not sure if I'll ever get back to my heaviest weights (44 yes old) but will be fun to try.

GJDM, I'm going easy for a while myself after straining something in my back last week. Got a vacation with the wife coming up in a couple weeks and thinking about when I come back doing Dan John's 10,000 swing KB challenge to build up some work capacity and give my body a break from heavier weights and barbell lifting in general for a while.

Our original 2 plans got Rona'd (1st plan was a cruise, 2nd was Vegas) so we are just doing a road trip around Texas. A couple days in Central Tx seeing old towns and a park or two, 1 night in San Antonio, 3 days in the desert, and a couple days on a river to finish off. Lots of hiking/sightseeing/etc will be done.
