Hit a deadlift PR boyos (reps abound)
Maybe could have gone for 8 and possibly 9 @ 385 lbs, but I think it was a good time to call it. Tweaked something in my right glute/hip no homo 2-3 weeks back so I laid off the deadlifts a little bit until now. Finished off with some ez close grip bench. das it mane.

Grats brah. Just curious do you deadlift in your adipowers? I been deadlifting in oly shoes lately to see if it has any better carryover to oly lifts. Feels kind of weird though.

Curious about you glute impingement, do you do any sdl hip thrust ect? Also how did you do it? Deadlifts?
Reason I ask is my glute medius is always taking a beating/impinging on the right side

I basically did mostly two exercises using a hip circle, you can buy one on amazon. Can't find videos but one exercise I would get into a high squat position, simply cave the knees in slowly then explosively bring the knees out against the band as hard as you can while remaining stable and keeping balance, for 15-20 reps. Another exercise is to get down to just above parallel in the squat position, push knees out against band as hard as possible for 20-30 seconds. If these are hard af for you, that's probably a good sign. Stretching your QL or releasing it with a lacrosse ball on one side may help but it's useless without addressing the main issue. Can even do hip thrusts and squats with it to really get those muscles to activate hard.

Using that formula:
385x7 = 2695
2695 x .0333 = 90
385+90
I’m going to say he can probably PR about 475 right now. Of course some people are much better at reps than others. I’m usually higher than a calculator would place me.

OPs reps looked like a struggle, i doubt he'll be on the higher end but he could prove me wrong
For example, I did 385×8 yesterday (approx 487 max) and I can deadlift more than 500.

Well done. I burn out fast on dl, 7 reps is no joke with 385.
