Should I lift at Planet Fitness? I don't have many other choices. (semi-srs)
Alright guys, I've been out of the gym for months due to Covid. My wife and I are staying at my parents house while we find work (moving back from overseas). My parents are both high risk, so I want to be careful about where I go. Planet Fitness' entire goal is to get people to pay memberships without actually showing up, so the place will be empty all the time. I want to have some access to dumbbells and cables, I've been lifting kegs in various states of fullness and bags of potting soil up to this point. That being said, I have my pride, and its Planet Fatness. What do, Misc? Get some lifting in under sub-optimal conditions, or keep doing crappy workouts with random chit around the house?
Here for the gains.
We're all gonna make it brah.

I go to PF, and I'm not proud, but honestly the hours are great and the price is right. They don't have everything, but 85% is better than trying to build my own garage gym.

Planet Fitness is fine if all you need is some benches, dumbbells up to 75 pounds, pull-up bars, Captain's Chairs, Smith Machines, and every possible cardio machine and fitness contraption you can think of. Go do a tour or a free day pass. For $10/Month I think it's a bargain.

Nah brah. Not worth it.
Was in a similar situation when my gym closed down.
If you do sign up, read the contract over. The sloot signing me up lied to me about a lot of the details. She got nervous when I read over the contract and confronted her about the small print fees(yearly membership fee, yearly maintenance fee).
Vitamin orange juice got the best of me and I legit threw the pen at her and raged out of there.

From pictures I've seen online and what people have told me, Planet Fitness is largely hit or miss. Some locations have a better selection of free weights than others. At some, the lunk alarm doesn't even exist.

YES
The place is a joke, but they have free tanning (including stand-up) and most of what I need for lifting. For $23/month

PF has a crowd meter. Very useful finding out which one to attend.https://www.planetfitness.com/gyms/
I got the Black Card so I just go to the least crowded one near me.
Don't forget to rep.
