Meditation is cancer for your soul. You should first stop doing that.

What are everyone’s thoughts on this whole self improvement movement or should I say industry that includes things like

1) practicing mindfulness
2) meditation
3) ego death
4) law of attraction;

And many others.

I’ve always been of the impression it’s best just to act. Instead of say meditation or sitting there and practicing gratitude so you harness the law of attraction you should read a book, go network, learn an instrument .. do real tangible things that yield real results.

I’ve tried meditation before and sat there bored feeling like an idiot wasting time. Couldn’t see myself doing this consistently when there are probably higher value activities instead.

I believe in all those things. meditation helps me realize every moment truthfully. im a big time believer in doing things, making real progress through physical/tangible changes in your life. Meditation for me reduces my nerves from 1/10 to 0/10, it helps me voicemaxx (deeper and clearer voice), and helps me experience emotions more fully. After Ive meditated I get angry more easily, I cry more easily, and just in general connect more to the human experience.

I got into meditating from Ray Dalios book Principles. I turned to his book during a dark period of my life (6 figure losses in the stock market) and it helped rebuild me after I broke down crying in the shower after a particularly bad day in the March stock market crash.

I was in the Abyss in March, Im currently in the metamorphosis stage and looking to complete/blast out of this stage.

"Heroes always experience one very big failure – an abyss or a belly of the whale experience – that tests their resilience to come back and fight smarter. They undergo a metamorphosis, and through this, they lose their fear. The heroes biggest reward however is the boon – the special knowledge of how to succeed, which upon returning home they are able to pass on to others."

I'm certainly open minded to a lot of the stuff, and don't think its bad. Think there is most likely some truth in that stuff.

The problem is people who take it to some ****gy cringelord level (such as the person this thread is directed at).

Once I depolarised, and became more normal, I realised that you can do all of the other things, like career and gym, to an even better extent, without being better than somebody, or to bang as many girls as possible, etc.

The issue is that it is incredibly difficult to do that, because our 3D existence is centred around domination and destruction.

By recognising that everybody is an aspect of you, you can begin clearing your own point of consciousness - eating clean, less meat, no animalistic activity like drugs, sex with strangers, or violence, etc - living like a monk really.

It's really easy, but then it is hard to let go of the ego and life which you have created.
how do you use you user your pain and suffering to become a better stronger person? How do I grow from my painful lessons and defeats?

Girls, food, gym im interested in, in only a base level I dont think much about those things tbh. I need too ascend to the next level of my career, that will ultimately define my life.

What works for me is working out while listening to stoic meditations or someone like alpha male strategies talking about how to fuk these hoes to sleep.

Sitting cross legged and chit is just a waste of time. You can absorb good information while doing other activities.

Being a career maxer is usually a direct contradiction with ego death. Career maxing is usually ego driven, so if you wanna lose your ego, you gotta be willing to let go of all your belonings and all the people you love. Seriously, thats why people who get fully enlightened usually don´t recommend it. If you become fully enlightned, you will probably have trouble connecting with any human that has an ego, thats why enlightened people often don´t take part in society. You will not be able to look at your kids or wife the same ever again. Losing your ego completely is losing your ties to humanity.

However, it is possible to become "partially" enlightened (human adulthood), which is a disconnection of the ego, but not fully living in non duality. If you wanna become truly enlighented, throw away most of your belongings and move away from society. Keep unraveling your personal reality until there is nothing left.

Your ego is wishing for ego death. That doesn´t work

I used to read crap like what I posted and laugh years ago, but now those people have played their part in my life.

Even when you're being the biggest failure and degenerate, you're still playing a part and helping others, perhaps teaching somebody a lesson, like I hung around some questionable people, and I learned why I did so, and changed this about my self.

Like any ego identification, pain and suffering gives you a routine, purpose, and a sense of entitlement - "my life was hard, so I should dominate others, because life was not fair to me"...

Like Jesus said, you should love your neighbour as you love your self, and forgive people truly for the wrongs they've done to you.

Once you can forgive your biggest enemy, you will have become a stronger person.
so my career for me is self actualization, if I achieve success like I plan to it would satisfy the deepest and most base elements of my ego and desire. if this doesn't define my life what will? What defines your life? What is ultimately most important to you brah?

meditation has been sensationalized the media. I dont do any of that sht. I set somewhere comfortable, relax all my muscles, truly just let go. and I sit and focus and listen to my breathing for 15-20 minutes. I listen to my thoughts my feelings and how it manifests in my body.

That sounds like a form of meditation. First you are talking about wanting ego death, but then you talk about satisfying your ego...

sorry, My post is misleading. Im not interested in ego death. I thought I heard WiseOldApe mention it and was merely curious how an enlightened individual lives/see his life. Pure curiosity not interested din that path.

Im a careermaxxer/ambitionmaxxer to the very core. Im looking to enlighten/empower myself, get more in tune with my mind body soul and chakras to better my body and mind as the instrument to achieve the things that will define my life.

That's the thing, then - nothing defines me, I just want to have enough money to be a family man, and nothing extravagant; a humble existence.

The job I do has nothing to with who I was 5 years ago; a bum on a street corner.

Now I couldn't be happier, whatever the job I do is.
Wow. that's extremely helpful brah srs. Alot of the distress and pain in my life is caused by trying to control my destiny instead of letting the universe guide me. Thanks man.

I see, thats a good road. Meditation and other exercises like yoga are good for that, as well as eating healthy. I personally wouldn´t use the word enlightened for that tho. Raising your frequency in the dream world is good, but you are still in the dream world. But being in the dream world can be good, you can still lessen your ego, without fully departing from it.

Ego is humanity and is false (atman). conscioussness is the real (brahman). When you tear down all beliefs and your ego, only brahman remains.

In the dream world, you´re on a stage playing a human character. The character is driven by the ego, which is an illusion that only exist in the dream world. The character doesn´t really "exist", but it´s how we navigate the dream world.
It´s about true and false. What can be proven to be true? Nothing, except for "concioussness".

Imagine being "enlightened" and having a conversation with your parent or wife. You can see that their entire personality if nothing but a mirage. Everything they have built their lives on, and everthing they are is a "lie". You can imagine it´s pretty difficult living in that reality and having meaningfull and joyful relationships at the same time. Being fully enlightened can be described as total insanity, or maybe it´s all the others that are insane, who knows.

Destoying your ego is probably kinda like killing yourself, all but in the phsysical sense.

Nothing wrong with doubling up. I actually find it easier to listen if I'm am doing something else that involves using my body. Oh, and sounds restful.

I don't wanna, but I seem to be here anyway. "Spiritual path" + Number 11 = Why me? > Why not you?

Same. Anybody who wants to empty the mind, connect with the body, and focus on the breath with (bonus) improved flexibility check out yin yoga.

its definitely not a given you make it out of the abyss. a very likely scenario is you keep spiralling further and deeper down. im in the process of climbing out of the abyss currently. If I can get back on my feet after this horrendous terrible year, after all I have been through I will reach the ultimate boon stage and lose my fear. the momentum from climbing out will propel me to heights ive never seen before.

New age spirituality is pseudo-religious cope and trying to attain a "higher state of being" is merely replacing one illusory construct with another. Attachment to the outcome will inevitably undermine any attempt and trying to kill your own ego is as paradoxical as it is absurd.
