I'd take my chances just not getting stabbed. They are also only 'Spike III' which means sharp pointy objects, not legit knives; so if it's a nail than I am good, a legit knife (they make some incredible ones) than I am boned. I think the thick carrier material will provide more protection in that case than the plates.

alright, so i need some advice from you guys.... particularly the ones that own a 9mm since that's the one and only gun that I own. It's a Taurus slim.... anyway, I was interested in getting a suppressor for it.... not only am I trying to get more comfortable with using my gun in the first place, but it's primarily for home defense (which I have a field out behind my house I can go shoot and chit all the time to practice, etc).... reason for the suppressor is because I wanna be able to shoot it without hearing protection and if I ever did have to use it to defend myself, I feel like I'd be able to better use it more efficiently in a high stress situation the quieter I can make it.... especially as I'm trying to, again, get more comfortable with being able to use it and whatnot.
Also, I live in Arkansas.... I've checked the laws and everything here, so getting a suppressor shouldn't be an issue at all. I've tried to do a little bit of research on what would be a good one to get.... was kinda looking at Dead Air.... seems to be pretty damn reputable from what I've checked out so far, but I know there's some other good ones out there too.
Just kinda wanted to see if anyone actually had a suppressor that owned a 9mm in here so I could actually hear from personal experience.... and I know I'll have to pay a tax stamp to get one and I'm cool with that.

I haven't dug super deep into it yet and I'm not in a hurry to make this purchase, I'll wait until after the election when things calm down for a bit. I saw the PSA KS-47 on youtube and that sparked my interest, but the main purpose of this gun would be home defense and 5.56 is a better choice for that when compared to 7.62 due to overpenetration, right? Price isn't a super big concern but I don't want to pay an extra $1500 for something just because it looks cooler. Would like to keep it under $1500. I would be open to other guns and calibers but I have a bunch of ammo and AR mags already so thought it would be the logical choice.
Is there anything that isn't obvious to be considered with barrel length? I mostly see anywhere from 7" to 12" barrels, I'm buying it because its small but I'm not sure if the super short barrels would be too short for the caliber. I'm not going to be shooting 1000 Yards.
AR pistol > SBR right? Too many hoops to jump through for the SBR?
Which manufacturer to pick? I don't want a budget gun, but I also don't want to spend $2500.

Similar example is in sports, if you've ever played and had coach screaming at you from the sidelines and you don't hear him when he's right next to you. In addition, if there is more than one bad guy, might want to let them know there is a dangerous party happening, and then they won't want to participate and will just leave. A suppressor may be too quiet to hear in other rooms, and then you encounter more bad guys.alright, so i need some advice from you guys.... particularly the ones that own a 9mm since that's the one and only gun that I own. She can't even hold the 20" CZ properly because it's too large.
Guess I'm building her an AR.

Notwithstanding the plate carrier being able to fit the plates... is there any issue running a shooter cut front and SAPI back?

Let me know how you like the K19. I've been using a warrior assault systems DCS for a while and, while I like it (very low profile) the lack of padding does get old after a while. I do runs, bodyweight exercises and dry fire in it weekly (usually Friday) and a little padding would be appreciated.

I love iron sights, simple and always work, no batteries needed. I think too many people ignore iron sights now, it's a shame.
Fixed irons on my Spike's, I can get out to about 250 yards with them, spread is pretty embarrassing but still able to hit the silhouette. Mini 14 I can get out to about 300, but I shoot that a lot due to work so more used to that rifle.
