If you're religious, then you think it's a sim. This is not the final reality to you.
The single electron theory was a John Wheeler hypothesis and I think even he admitted it wasn't likely before he died. Interestingly though, he never gave up on the Participatory Anthropic Principle which places consciousness at the center of reality and is completely in line with living in a simulation.

There's got to more to it. If it was then literally anything could be possible and there would be no boundaries to what we can do.

If someone believes he can fly on his own, meditates each day, puts himself to trance state and alters his consciousness to actually believe he can just fly away he would end up as crazy, not the first human-bird

I'm not sure I follow. just because consciousness/awareness could drive reality/change it doesn't mean the physical laws of the universe stop working....

There is nothing "deep" about this sort of thinking. Actually it is quite mindless speculation and philosophical pondering.

It is common human behavior to extrapolate mere issues of human concern (as you seem to be doing with 2020) onto the workings and nature of theuniverse, it's been happening throughout history, notably with religion. Sun=good for various reasons for humans, thus you have a sun god....people going through bad times or war or whatever else, religion can arise or dominate. See for example some of the NT biblical literature that arose in the second half of the 1st century in turmoil-filled Jerusalem (Jewish-Roman war).

Unfortunately the nature of the universe is not dictated by mere human activities...things are not true or not because people want them to be true....they are just true or not. Simulation theory in general tends to be a lot of philosophical pondering (i.e. babble), and I dont find it to be that interesting.

Odd take on the double slit experiment. Either way, it is also an unusual take that single electron theory is "the most accurate"- far from it actually. In physics, a phrase like "most accurate" generally means it has withstood experiment the best vs competing theories....and how exactly is this theory even being tested? If anything, it flies in the face of much of modern physics.....heck it wouldnt explain how the electron number isnt even the same, new electrons are always being made etc. Tritium beta decays into Helium-3, producing an electron and antineutrino- an electron is literally created from a neutron decaying to a proton. Other examples result in positron creation. I dont see how much of this makes sense given a single electron making up all the electrons in the universe.

Besides all this even, even if somehow all electrons were the same electron (by far not a standard view in modern physics), this still is not somehow evidence of a simulation. Why couldnt that just be how the universe is, in our universe, minus the simulation? Odd to say that this is connected to or dependent on a simulation, whatever that means.

most accurate in supporting that life is a simulation, not that it supercedes all modern theories lol

I believe our bodies are hardware. But our souls are software. That software goes to the next phase after we are done with our time here. I don't think I was hallucinating when I experienced encounters with the next phase during my NDEs in the hospital.

I've had morphine dreams and it wasn't the same thing.

Some pre-historic cultures probably had bear worship, because that’s what pre-historic people saw in certain regions and it was a significant part of their lives. Fast forward to modern times: computers, hardware, and software are prominent parts of our lives, so it is not unsurprising to see people go on about simulations, or make technological analogies like the above. The nature of the universe of course is not determined by whatever human fad is currently in vogue.

Anyone can believe whatever they want. I’ll wait for evidence to present itself, which doesn’t seem to be there for something like a soul, a notion which is probably poorly defined anyway. To each his own.

Well since you are a self-proclaimed numbers guy you might have a better grasp of this man's argument that we are most likely living in a simulation.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...gainst-reality
...while neuroscientists struggle to understand how there can be such a thing as a first-person reality, quantum physicists have to grapple with the mystery of how there can be anything but a first-person reality. In short, all roads lead back to the observer. And that’s where you can find Hoffman — straddling the boundaries, attempting a mathematical model of the observer, trying to get at the reality behind the illusion. Quanta Magazine caught up with him to find out more. An edited and condensed version of the conversation follows.

What specifically is so ridiculous? More ridiculous than living during WW2? The 60s w/mass protests, assassinations, violence, civil unrest, etc.?

Without actually reading the book, I am very skeptical about its contents, considering this is a cognitive psychologist combining evolution with quantum mechanics to attack the problem of consciousness and reality. There is a lot of whacked out “science” out there connected with anything quantum mechanics related, especially that which touches on consciousness. Can’t really say anything for sure without reading it though.

Found this Ted talk by Hoffman:

All of this stuff..seems to have that philosophical-babble vibe of “when you see an apple....is itreallythere, even after you close your eyes”....I think questions that are more scientific and not as based in philosophy are the more interesting ones to pursue.

Posted this in a different thread recently, but is sort of relevant here as well-

I imagine even the most hardcore non-reality proponent, whether it’s a guy like the above or some other cognitive science/philosophy type guy, doesn’t worry that the jar of peanut butter he put in a cupboard might not be there when he opens the cupboard the next day....nah he likely subconsciously understands the jar of peanut butter is really there, even after he shuts the cupboard.

To talk about spacetime not being the ultimate fabric of reality, if I’m even interpreting this correctly, is not productive scientific discourse, I mean where are the empirical tests for whatever this hypothesis is...

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream

The internet is the real simulation.

Ever notice how you never see any tampon ads anymore? Recommendation algorithms are becoming smart enough to identify your interests, your likes, if you're a male or female to specifically cater to you. Your own personal echo chamber.

You could be shadow banned and wouldn't even know it if AI was loading fake data, users, and posts on any website you visit. To you it's all the same.

I'm not real a person by the way.
