Mishle/Proverbs 3:3-4: "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man."

What a nice change to see a positive thread. It's definitely hard to be optimistic all the time but you just have to appreciate the little things in life and find the silver lining in even the most challenging situations. I used to stress a lot over things I couldn't control and it drove me crazy. It's much nicer to be in a place where you can just truly take life one day at a time and not worry about what hurdles life will throw at you tomorrow. This pandemic really made me appreciate things I used to take for granted (family) and realize that life isn't all about working/making money.

Can you narrate the entire first post with soothing background music?
Past 2 weeks I got to see and appreciate:
Spoiler!

Although truthfully, I still struggle with feeling down about myself. Ahh well. Life's a work in progress and as this poem goes:
"I wish I could show you,
When you are lonely or in the darkness,
The Astonishing Light
Of your own Being!'
Just like I can appreciate nature, Im sure there's someone out there that will see the best in me that I myself can't. But one day I'd love to see it in myself as well!

A million and one things go right every day but some of ya'll only want to see the problems.
Be love. Cultivate your appreciation.
Why would you want to be angry, upset, or down all the time? Most of the time, that's your choice. You can choose to dwell on the things that you experience, and you can choose to ruminate over things that generally don't affect your life directly (but you have decided for whatever reason does).

It's easier to love, and to give love than it is to be hateful in the long run. Hate, and anger will tear you apart from within. Love will build your world from the ground up.

...........
You're right; we all took many things for granted before this. But you're recognizing the things you took for granted. Now you can appreciate them

This thread, I love this stuff

Appreciating nature does this for me and brings me into the moment. Finding the extraordinary in what some people may only see as ordinary. I try to take the time to appreciate the little moments and comforts in life.

As for your poem, it sounds really similar to the lyrics in one of my favorite songs. It was a miscer who posted this, wish I remember him now so I could rep him again.
Have a listen if you want. It's one of the most moving songs I ever heard

Thanks bro, I needed this. Been harsh on myself lately but you're right, i've been working my ass off. The issue is that I always feel like I could be doing more/better and it makes me overthink.

Okay, let's see if access denied errors will let me post this time
EDIT: Still cannot get the rest of this long post out, I'm sorry brahs. I wonder if it has to do with quoting.
At the very least I can address this re: Davik:
Do... you not know how toappreciategestures, actions, people, places, and things? No offense, but this isn't rocket science. It's not brain surgery, and it's not brain science either. It's spending an extra few moments each day thinking about things that you feel grateful for instead of spending that same time thinking about all the chit you're upset about.
It's always a little funny to me when you get somebody trying to challenge this advice by saying "Hey man, that's empty platitudes." And it's like, no, it's absolutely not. It's indicative ofyour own inabilityto recognize how many things you take for granted.
It's about recognizing thatevery day, 95% of your day goes exactly as planned. The other 5% is often something of such little significance, that being upset about it or dwelling on it all day as opposed to working on fixing it or at least recognizing why it makes you upset and then moving on, just doesn't make sense. But most people do it anyway; they ruminate. They sit down and remain upset. They get mad at the news. They get mad at other people on the news lightyears away from them. And they just stay mad.
How can you be more loving?
1. Actively spend time considering the things you feel grateful for. Single out a few things every day that you enjoy, and appreciate. Consider those things for a bit longer than you normally would.
2. When you're in a bad situation, and notice yourself thinking more negatively about it, spend some additional time to consider how this experience can be helpful to you later. Think about how it could be helpful to the people you love and care about later.
3. When you are in the company of people you care about, THINK about how much you care about those people. In the pauses of speech, or in the small silences, think to yourself "Wow, this is nice. I am glad I get to do this."
4. Recognize when you're ruminating over something that has a negligible effect on your life, or when you're angry because the media has asked you to be angry. Recognize that most calls to anger are not beneficial or productive to you directly, especially those put forth on the television. This is especially important in political climates that function under a doomsday pretense.
5. Stop mucking through your life. Pay more attention. Focus on being more alert. Focus on being aware of your day, and recognizing the day as it passes. BE ACTIVELY HERE NOW. Do not auto pilot.
