What will have been worse: The collapse of the Roman Empire or fall of America

Rome was the apex of ancient civilization. They had technology, education, wealth, everything an ancient civilization could want. When they collapsed the world entered the dark ages, and had to wait for Aquinas to come along to help bring the world back.

So the question will be, what will the world look like if the US were to fall. Would the average American citizen be as shocked as the average Roman citizen was?

The US will continue to slide toward poverty - our level of debt is insane and we have no manufacturing base. The poor and lower class will grow and become agitated as benefits are cut and there will be more rioting in the streets, more political infighting about stupid sh*t like gay rights / abortion and black / white issues - none of which matter relative to the real issues which includes the fact that our politicians are bought and sold via campaign donations and don't give a single solitary fuk about us (including the imbecile trump).

In the meantime, China will continue its thousand year ascent and will soon have regional hegemony, and within our lifetimes, will become the dominant global power and spread a totalitarian state across the globe with their belt and road initiative 2.0

9/11 and the aftermath marked the beginning of the decline of the american empire. We have been entirely sold out and ****ed for close to 20 years now. Trump was our last real chance at a revival but he has had enemies of the state doing everything they can to prevent it. The american empire will fade rapidly if he loses in November.

I would definitely agree that the seconds before 9/11, was the last day of peak America. It’s been on decline since that day. Trump certainly has done a lot to help bring us back.

Who wouldn't be shocked the moment it falls? It's a natural reaction.

With Trump and nationalism on the rise, I think we still have a chance to turn the tides. And to ensure that keeps going, we're going to have to keep electing right-wing candidates. If the left keeps their bullchit up, we'll end up electing a far right-wing President. In fact, that may be necessary after Trump. The only way to avert the fall.

Edit:

To answer the OP, the fall of America would probably be worse since it's a more advanced civilization and was once seen as a leader and beacon of the world.

Has anyone looked into what it takes to become a citizen of another country? Its next to impossible. If you aren't investing 250k in real estate or a business, you're boned.

Its insane, but America is racist for having such lax standards to become a citizen compared to every other country? Pretty wild. I didn't think America would collapse in my lifetime, but its here. At least we have guns. The people have a chance to fight back unlike every other civilization collapse. I'm still looking for the easiest path to citizenship elsewhere. I'm not gonna be here when the left enslaves the right. Its over for us conservatives. Social media has wound up all the tards. There are too many imbeciles and everyone is cowering to them. Its been a good run.

It's always entertaining reading and hearing people continue with their "President Trump/the right will get us back on track", or "Trump is a clown, and needs to be out of office before this country can get back on the right track" rhetoric. It's for that very reason that you shouldn't have any delusions about the eventual state of the US and its future; people are polarized, and that'll be the end of it. The country will tear itself apart, and will be scraps for those with wealth/power to make of it what they will, while the majority of the population will continue to point fingers at the other side.


In short, idiotic people are fighting among themselves while the core of their nation rots, and its coffers are emptied.
