My sister is physically and mentally disabled (neurodegenerative illness). My dad watched her go from being able to converse and walk around to being in a wheelchair, unintelligible in speech, and in pain from worsening spasticity. My dad loves her like crazy, and uses much of his time and money trying to give her the best life he can, for as long as he can.
The feel-good part comes in when I watch him play with my 3 year old daughter, who was lucky enough to be born completely healthy. I think decades of caring for my sister as she declined gave him a huge soft spot for his granddaughter, who is just beginning her life. I imagine that how he must feel when they interact is one of the best, and most bittersweet things anyone could feel.
The feel-good part comes in when I watch him play with my 3 year old daughter, who was lucky enough to be born completely healthy. The best feeling i ever experienced in this world in the last 7 years of my life was when I went to the beach with my oneitis , and it was during the week a warm day, it felt like the world had stopped, the streets were empty, it was just us holding hands, looking at houses thinking of the future, talking about houses we like, felt like we were the only people that existed.. then we went to the beach together and we cuddled in the water and it was the best feeling i have ever felt hearing her laugh and cuddling her in the water (she coudn't swim as well lol) then lying on the beach as the afternoon sun was setting and we were looking into each others eyes and she said imagine if i never swiped right on you .(Srs).... sadly it's a very distant and vague memory now but it was still the best feeling .. but then she kinda ruined it coz i was rock hard and when we came home she didnt wanna have sex so i got kind mad at her LOL
