The Property of Emergence (Kurtzgesagt Video)

I think this is an important part of the conversations surrounding things like explaining our universe, our place in it, and our individual identities. Anyone undergoing any type of existential crisis be ware. (You don’t actually exist)

I’m a fan of this channel so I enjoy most of their work. I feel like this one is really well done.

Any idea that deviates from your current understanding of the universe would give you those “vibes”. That is the confirmation bias.

Do you not think claiming to be the intentional creation of an unexplainably powerful entity is pompous?

Protip: It meets that definition much more closely than the ideas suggested in the video I posted.

This is a good follow up video. I think anyway.

Obviously the ideas expressed in these well researched and generally reputable videos go against many religious concepts.

these physics videos end up as metaphysics and useless. so outside of any practical usage, no better than wiseape's ramblings except its atheist approved.

Entropy = everything breaks down into a chaotic mess over time
Emergence = life organizes itself from chaos

these laws of nature seem to contradict each other ..

The first thought that pops into my mind is that entropy is a law of thermodynamics that applies exclusively to closed systems. The Earth is not a closed system. If we ever do attain the ability to show proof of life elsewhere in the universe, I imagine it will be somewhere that also receives a significant amount of energy from an outside source.
