How does it feel knowing that California allows prostitutes to make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year from prostitution and they don't make them pay any income taxes at all? I legit knew of a couple prostitutes that drove Bentley's in lived in expensive apartments and they weren't paying any taxes at all.

There's fuk all here in terms of outdoor trails etc compared to CA and it's horrifying in summer (which never ends). I'm reluctantly moving back to norcal and can't wait to see hills, mountains, trees and forests again

The recreational use of cannabis is legalized in 11 states (Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington), the District of Columbia, the Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam. Another 16 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands have decriminalized.[4] Commercial distribution of cannabis is allowed in all jurisdictions where cannabis has been legalized, except Vermont and the District of Columbia. Prior to January 2018, the Cole Memorandum provided some protection against the enforcement of federal law in states that have legalized, but it was rescinded by former Attorney General Jeff Sessions.[5]
Ranked for Property Tax on $205K House:Colorado $1076
District of Colombia $1122
Nevada $1303
California $1557
Oregon $2061
Washington $2065
Alaska $2423
Massachusetts $2518
Maine $2793
Michigan $3240
Vermont $3853
Illinois $4705

If you are a homeowner, regardless of if your home is paid off or mortgaged, you still pay property taxes
Of course, if you’re renting you can still guarantee that the cost of property taxes is built into your rent, so there’s really no normal way around it
One way or another your azz is paying property taxes

It's cheaper to own a Lambo in CA than in CT per year

Don't move to Texas with a california mindset, else you'll ruin Texas too.
Nevada? Nashville? What about the east coast like South Carolina or North Carolina?

State income taxes should rank Much higher on the list when looking at states comparison of cost of living

I may pay a few grand less in property taxes when looking at Cali vs Texas
But I will save multiple times more in income tax

As a single Asian male my options are much more limited. I'm eyeing suburbs around Dallas because of jobs and low cost of living. The only downside is a lack of outdoor recreation and my peg on the social ladder as an Asian brah is low.

Wild.
I just bought a house (live in CT) bought it for $370k, in a lower tax town none the less.
I'm thrilled tp have yearly property taxes come in just below $5k. The town I was in before would've run me $8k for an equivelant house which is more typical of towns in this state.
